Seasonic M12 Modular 700W Power Supply rated by 3dGameMan.com

Manufacturer info: More info

The Seasonic M12 Modular 700W Power Supply performs very well, has a quiet 120mm fan, and another fan if it's required. This is a modular power supply. However, the main motherboard 20/24, 8pin, and 4pin leads are hardwired into the power supply and are not modular. Modular power supplies give you the freedom of selecting only the leads you require, therefore freeing up a lot of cable mess inside the case, thus increasing airflow. The Cooler Master Silent Pro line of power supplies are currently available in three wattages; 500, 600 & 700. I reviewed the 700W model. The +3.3V rail is 28A & the +5V rail is 25A. There's a single +12V rail which is an impressive 50A. This is one of the best power supplies I've tested in this range. It's quality built, efficient, ultra quiet 135mm fan, uses Japanese capacitors, modular and comes with a 5 year warranty. Watch the video to find out more.

OCZ ProXStream 1000W Power Supply rated by 3dGameMan.com

Video Review #817 Summary

Manufacturer info: More info

The OCZ ProXStream 1000W Power Supply has lots of clean, quality power and comes with plenty of sleeved leads. This power supply is very small, considering others in the 750 to 1000+ watt range are usually much longer. As a matter of fact, there's so much crammed into such a small enclosure they couldn't even fit a power switch and had to use a rather loud 80mm fan. The advantage to being small is this power supply will fit in any ATX case. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end.

Nexus 80 Plus Power Supplies rated by 3dGameMan.com

Video Review #819 Summary

Manufacturer info: More info

The Nexus 80 Plus Power Supplies are excellent for a Home Theatre PC setup or in any environment where a quiet power supply is required. Due to wattage limitations, they are really not intended for a hardcore gaming rig though. All of these power supplies are identical on the outside with a steel housing which is painted black. There's one quiet 120mm fan and the fan grill is recessed which ensures it will fit in any ATX case. These power supplies also have lots of leads, most of these leads are modular, but a few are hard wired into the power supply and can't be removed.

Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W Power Supply rated by 3dGameMan.com

Video Review #833 Summary

Manufacturer info: More info

There's no surprise that the Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W Power Supply performs very well. With 1200 watts it's clearly not intended for the budget market, but rather the hardcore gamer. Having a multiple video card setup, lots of other hardware, and overclocking requires a power supply of this wattage to keep everything stable. This product also has a quiet 140mm fan, lots of sleeved modular leads, and looks excellent. It is fairly long though, so it might not fit in some mid-tower cases and it's pricey, which is to be expected.

PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W Quad PSU (Crossfire) rated by 3dGameMan.com

With 20 years of experience building power supplies for the consumer and industry, it's no wonder PC Power & Cooling is THE preferred power supply. I personally have two S75Q models in two of my computer systems and have no issues whatsoever. So I really know first hand over an extended test period how excellent the Silencer model really is. The PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W Quad CrossFire Edition Power Supply (S75CF) is really the same as the previous model (S75Q), except it has two 8pin (6+2) PCIE leads and its red.
