Redbox game rentals are go

"Game rentals through Redbox are now on, starting today in about 21,000 Wal-Mart stores and gas station locations across the U.S. The cost will be $2 per day and the kiosks will feature Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 3 titles. Redbox is not commenting on how many game titles they are planning on loading into each kiosk. Those that rent a game from Redbox and keep the title for 30 days will be charged $60, and they can keep the game. From our understanding, there is no plan to send the box to those that end up purchasing a title."

Share your Wiimote, share your wife: We Dare... WTF?

The video for Ubisoft's upcoming Wii game called We Dare looks like a joke. It has been spreading all over the Internet, and the most common response has been disbelief. This is a game that is supposed to be played with your very attractive friends in order to have an excuse to do sexy things with one another. Do you know anyone who has a Wii and looks like these people? When watching the trailer, think of how uncomfortable this would be in real life.

Let's watch... together.

Game Sales Plummet For Game Consoles

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Super Mario Galaxy 2 may have started life as an extension of the original game, but the content shown at Nintendo's San Francisco media summit makes it look much more like a full sequel... hence the numbering.

Ten gadgets that defined the decade

As 2009 winds down and we try to come up with new and clever ways of referring to the early years of this century, there's really only one thing left to do: declare our ten favorite gadgets of the aughts and show them off in chronological order. It's arguable that if this wasn't the decade of gadgets, it was certainly a decade shaped by gadgets -- one which saw the birth of a new kind of connectedness. In just ten years time, gadgets have touched almost every aspect of our daily lives, and personal technology has come into its own in a way never before seen.

Nintendo Patents Football Controller

Are you ready for some football (-based gaming controllers)? Nintendo hopes so. The company has filed a patent for a football-based controller--essentially a Nerf football with some holes carved out in it where you can shove your controller.

RedBox to start introducing video games

"Not wanting to go into a video rental store to try out the latest games? Now the movie rental kiosk Redbox is testing out game rentals. According to InsideRedbox, rental kiosks are now being tested in western U.S. markets such as Reno, NV and Salt Lake City, UT. Selection thus far appears to be slim, but it is spread across games for PS2, PS3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii."
