Apple nicked designs that were a decade old

"Apple did not invent designs for the iPad but just nicked ideas which had been kicking around the technology industry for a decade. According to Samsung evidence, which is being presented in the patent trial, Apple’s IP is invalid. Samsung already argued that Apple’s pinch-to-zoom patent was stolen from Mitsubishi’s old Diamond Touch and yesterday it showed the jury with videotaped testimony from Roger Fidler.

Apple fans swarm stores around the world for new iPad

"Apple started selling its new iPad at stores Friday, and the launch drew long lines around the world. Post reporter Sarah Halzack tries to make sense of why people keep flocking to Apple stores on the first day of a product launch even though there are other ways to get the Apple item..."

The iPad is a Personal Computer—true or false?

"Some people treat "PC" as a kind of country club, keeping membership in the group narrow and therefore constraining the definition of a PC. Others would go so far as to say that anything that does real computing, is personal, and is powered by a central processing unit is a PC. And then there's a whole lot of us in between. So that brings us to our poll, and hopefully a great discussion: is the iPad a PC or not?"

Why PCs trump iPads for innovation

"The strongest argument in favor of the personal computer is the iPad. Supposedly, the iPad spells the death of the laptop. Supposedly, we're going to do all of our computing in the cloud. Some folks believe both of these statements, which is a bit like believing in laissez-faire communism."

Playboy Bypasses Apple's App Store

"Playboy finally arrived—uncensored—on the iPad Thursday, but not through Apple's prudish App Store. It came as an iPad-optimized Web app, which means it doesn't have to abide by the App Store's rules or share subscription revenue with Apple. Sounds like a sweet deal. Is it a model that will be attractive to other magazines? Obviously, Playboy had little choice but to go the route of a Web app with its uncensored iPad offering. While Playboy does have an app in the App Store, that doesn't offer anything near the content of the magazine.

There are plenty of iPad 1 cases on the market, but few are as versatile as the Scosche kickBACK P1 Case. This product offers protection for the iPad, but it also doubles as a stand. What sets it apart though is it can be orientated in a portrait, landscape or typing mode.
