Futuremark releases Powermark battery life test for Windows 7 devices

Futuremark®, the world leader in performance benchmarking software and services, today expanded its product line with Powermark™ a new battery life and power consumption test for Windows 7 notebooks, laptops, tablets and other battery powered devices. Powermark is a professional grade benchmark designed for industrial testing of battery powered Windows 7 devices by OEMs, corporations and governments. It includes a convenient set of standard tests based on productivity and entertainment use-case scenarios, as well as allowing custom settings for bespoke testing requirements.

3DMark 11 update released

It's almost a week since we released 3DMark 11 and we're rapidly closing on 200,000 result submissions from eager overclockers around the world.

Unfortunately such wide scale use has brought to light a few issues that weren't caught by our own testing. So today we are releasing an update to 3DMark 11 to fix those problems and add a couple of requested features. Note, until NVIDIA release new drivers SLI will continue to be unavailable in 3DMark 11.

3DMark 11 is now available

Trailer, Release Date for Shattered Horizon

HELSINKI, FINLAND – April 27, 2010 – Futuremark® Games Studio today confirmed that the next major content expansion for Shattered Horizon™ will be released on May 5. The Firepower pack will add a range of new weapons and grenades to the PC exclusive multiplayer first-person shooter. A new trailer released today shows the weapons in action with the studio promising to reveal more every day on the game’s official website.

Futuremark's Shattered Horizon is great

Futuremark has already issued a new patch for its first game, the Shattered Horizon. We had a chance to try it out and we must confess that Futuremark did a great job with this multiplayer FPS and the "zero gravity" is even more fun than on paper.
