Both have the ability of controlling up to 5 fans, 30W per channel, but the Recon has a 4.7" touchscreen display and comes with 5 thermal probes. If you require a simple, but rock solid fan controller the Hydra Pro would fit the bill, however, if you're looking for a sophisticated fan controller, the Recon the way to go.
