The Cooler Master HAF XB Case is a very unique case because of its styling. The square design allows easy access to the inside of the case, two 120mm fans are included & many more can be installed, there are hot swap bays, a 240mm radiator can be mounted at the front, plenty of ventilation and much more. With that being said, this is more of an enthusiast case or test bench, but it totally rocks.
To Rodney and all:
I have to date received FIVE (5) HAF XB cases in a row that have had unforgivable issues, just so unbelievable.
From chassis bad bubbling paint, to panels not fitting flush that you'd have to force secured using the thumb screws and also panel that fit "weld-like" tight, to 3 of them having the chassis rocking diagonally from left front to right rear to name a few. These were ordered from 3 different major sources here in the USA.
I have other Cooler Master cases which from the getgo had no issues.
I give up on using this case model.
I'm quite experienced when it comes to computers and computer building.
Hey there. Problem is this:
I need to use more than 3 HDDs with a 3,5" in size. I know about the 2 hot swap bays, and I also could use 1 of the 2 5,25" inch trays to store a 3,5" in it.but 1 5,25" bay I need for my optical drive.
2 hot swap 3,5" bays and 1 5,25"-----> 3 HDDs I can use.
Is there any chance to get more 3,5" bays in this baby? Could I remove the 2,5" bay (storing I think up to 4 2,5" drives, and replace it with a 3,5" cage?
I want to use: 1 SSD for my OS and software, and 4 or more 3,5" HDDs for storage, gaming, photoshop projects, 3D and 2D stuff.
Kind regards and a happy new year!
sabertooth and gtx670 and Antec KUHLER H2O 920 do you think that fit in?
I've got one waiting under the xmas tree right now! i took it out to inspect the unit for any damage, i am very pleased with the quality of this little cube case. cant wait to move it around to LANs. OHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Really like the look of this case.
anybody know how much it will cost?
on the dutch site it is not avalible yet.
It's around $100 here in North America.
thats pretty good price i will have a look 2 what the shipping costs will be and i f thats ok i will probbably buy one. it will be a cool winter prroject
Ooh I really do like this case. Any idea when it will be available in Australia? I haven't heard anything over here yet...
Should be available in a few weeks or maybe in the new year.
That is a pretty large case...
Personally, Id prefer a large, long tower to the cubish shape, but this case does look very nice.
Hi Rodney,
I realize your Silverstone slip took precedence but any thoughts on my comment?
Thanks
When I was shooting the video I had SilverStone on the brain because I was chatting about the SilverStone PSU just before. Doh! So it was nothing more than a brain fart. I'm human, go figure ;)
hmm tempting maybe if the price is right i would sell my modded haf x case and buy this one to start a new project i realy like the design and i could go wild with this case
I'll be in the market for a new case soon... and this one has caught my eye. I've never been a fan of the HAF line of cases that precede this, but this one has certainly changed that.
Are you going to hold onto this one, Rodney... or will this come up as a contest at some point?
This one won't be up for giveaway and it's not likely Cooler Master will have a giveaway with 3dGameMan anytime soon.
Oh, well. It was worth a shot. Thanks for the reply, Rodney.
If I needed a Mid-Tower or HTPC case, this would DEFINITELY be it!
I really like it.
Mister rodney, I have a question regarding this case. I curently have a AMD 6990 gpu, H100 Watercooler and an AX1200 Corsair PSU. If i put it in this case, will the all of this 3 component fit in it ? The PSU area seems a bit short for AX1200 length, will the modular cable interfere with the hotswap hdd module ? and if I put the H100 in the front 2x120mm intake, will there be still enough space for my AMD 6990 GPU ?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
To answer your question, "So the case will hold up to 13” cards since that card is on 12” it would fit in the case, however if they plan on using the H100 cooler it will be in the way."
That's a great question. Let me contact Cooler Master on this to be 100% certain it will all fit. If they get back to me, I'll let ya know.
Seems like a pretty interesting case, but I dont think I would buy it.
Yes you would, after all it has a removable motherboard tray ;)
In spite of the fact that you provide dimensions, it would be really nice for you to have some kind of common item to sit beside it for sense of scale - say a popular case.
With your hands closer to the camera it looks like it's a cubic foot.
FYI: Video will be up in 30mins.
I just change my rig this week (as i take all my stuff at great price from the "black friday" sales) and got this case, simply awesome, really satisfied of this, great cooling even with silent fan as all is open ;)
Only complaint is the 2 80mm in the back as only Noctua made some silent and decent fan now in this size... Also for some people only 2 3.5 HDD is not enough but for me it's ok as i've just build a media PC with my old rig and i can use all my stuff from network and keep this machine only for gaming ;)
Yea, true enough about the 3.5" drives, but you could get a 5.25" to 3.5" adapter for another couple, or one if you're installing a 5.25" drive. Many people now though go for 2.5" drives. Would have been nice if they offered an optional 3.5" inside cage.
2:43 there's a bug. You speak about wrong brand. Cooler Master, not Silverstone ;)
yea. gonna pull video, correct and uploaded it again. When I was shooting the video I had SilverStone on the brain because I was chatting about the SilverStone PSU just before. Doh!
WOW u did a misstake... "Silver Stone" logo on the front.. at 2.44..
Yea, gonna pull the video and remove that... Video will be back in 30 mins or so...
I like it, I wouldn't use this as a gaming case but if I ever made a theater pc, I'd use this case, though at its current asking price of $99.99 That's a bit overkill, if I were to use this case, I'd wait until its priced dropped to like, $59.99 at the most.
I mean I spent just $60 more and got the Azza Genesis 9000, so, I'd think their should be a much larger price difference between the two.
Still looks neat and if you got the money to burn, I think it'd make a good theater pc case or maybe an office case but its a little flashy for a office case heh.
