The HIS 6870 IceQ 1GB GDDR5 Video Card is one of the best all around video card on the planet. While it's not the fastest video card, it won't break the bank, but it performs very well and is loaded with excellent features. If you want more performance, just add another in a crossfire setup.
How come my Sapphire 5850 Toxic 1GB blows this card out of the water in 3DMark 2006 score results? I'm sitting close to a score of 26000, compared to the 21000 to 22000 score in the video review (for 1650x1080, 1920x1200; I'm on 1920x1080 myself) ... Is it purely because of the Core i5 2500K I'm currently using?
I'd love to trade my 6850 for this 6870 ;)
I have this card, and I love it.
Great looking card. I really like the look of the cooler housing and fan placement. Very nice stuff!
I'm subscribed to 3DGAMEMAN on Youtube, am also his friend on youtube, yet he has me blocked.... The only thing I can recall doing is complaining about when he was going to be not doing youtube videos like 6 months ago....
one quick question, does the card have original manufacturer's warranty? would i be able to register it for warranty through HIS's website if purchase the card?
thanks.
By the way, would my 500w Raidmax PSU be able to power this along with a 125w AMD Phenom II Quad Core? Or should I go for a more powerful PSU and if so what wattage would you suggest?
I was thinking of getting the cheaper Sapphire 6870. I love the look of the IceQ but it's too expensive for my taste. I would purchase your ebay auction, Rodney but I am 50 dollars short at the moment :[
And the shipping from Canada costs more than the GFX Card does on Newegg with free shipping. This would be a good buy if I camped out and waited for you to drop the price a bit but I'm sure some lucky Canadian or perhaps a fan will purchase it for the value of it being from 3DGAMEMAN

Speaking from at poor college student, this video graphic card is 200 plus. I know the over function suppose to be better and run much cooler. I don't recall hearing anything about how much better cooling is this graphic card compare to other 6870. If money not the problem this video card is fine. I got two 6870 at home running cross fire in a haf x case. So I love this card to death, but not it's price.
I actually got the 6950 of His's video card, the OC 2gig version, so far I like it, every game I've played with it so far, runs the games maxed out at 1920 1080 with no lag and runs the games like their nothing, though if you use second life like I do, heh, it can not handle Open GL my FPS went from 50 FPS to 9FPS when I enabled OpenGL.
Also, for an OCed card it runs pretty cool.
I really don't like they look of the iceQ cooler.
Its a nice card and for a very nice price @ € 161,00 the HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo 1GB which comes with a very small factory is only 5 euro's more, and odds are they have a better chips. HIS Radeon HD 6870 IceQ X Turbo X 1GB has a very nice OC but at that price(€ 199,00 ) i would go for a GTX560ti or a 6950. But they have deferent coolers some how :s

The cheapest reference design i could find is priced at € 144,90 and the price difference for that cooler is worth it.Still there are cheaper 6870 out there with a custom cooler and that do not have a factory OC and for that reason i will rate it Kickass.
@3dGameMan
Can you add a 3dmark 11 benchmark and compare the card to different ones to get a better idea of what the card i capabele of;). Nice review really like those non-case stuff, don't tell me AMD did not send you a FX
Very nice Review as always. In the beginning I hated the cooler, but after a while you start to get used to it. Typical a HIS product ^^. Videocard performance good and the cooler ... lets not talk about it :P.
o my...
