I'm impressed with the sample video provided. But I wonder if anyone else had tried using it in action sports like paintball. I've been looking for a helmet cam for that for some time. I'll have to dig some more I guess.

HI!!!! i was looking forward to buy a camera liked this, but i still have a bunch of questions, for example i would be using this camera for a roller coast in Los Angeles called X2 idk if you familiar with it, i want some of my family who don't have access to the internet how its like. But i want to know if it would slip out my head when I'm using a head band. basically i want to know how sturdy the camera and the head band would be and if you could suggest something please do :) thanks, my email is [email protected].

Hey, great camera. I have a question, does it detect infra red light? I'm thinking of using it for night vision purposes but I am not sure if it detects it. You could check by pointing a remote control towards it and pressing buttons, if bright lights show up in the footage then it does see infra red.

Hi I have the same camera and really like it.

Only isn't this a bit of a absolute review since this model isn't available any more from Contour!
This has been replaced with the new roamHD which is waterproof and has wider field of view.

True, but this model is cheaper, so I suspect many are still interested.

If the microphone could be improved, this would be great for when I ride my tricycle. I'd rather have 1080p for when it comes to recording the license plate numbers during an incident like this one:

You can read the thread about the incident here:

You must have not read the thread as I'm not EoinOC. The video is just an example.

Is it just me or do the mounts not look as sturdy as they could be?

I'm in the market for a Helmet cam to use while enduro riding (on my KTM 250EXC). The camera looks great and the recording seems good, but I'm a little unsure about the mounts. Does anyone have any experience/suggestions?

The mounts included are great, but you can purchase many more for the purpose needed.

>GoPro doesn't support 1080p though

That's not true, my GoPro HD does 1080p.
My favorite is 720p @60FPS though.

Very cool review Rodney. Really like the cam and very nice recordings.

Very nice thing!
The only disadvantage is that it's not waterproof, I prefer GoPro because of this. GoPro doesn't support 1080p though, but for skiing I need a waterproof camera.

Well, you can get a waterproof housing for Contour cams.
