Video Review #1227 Summary

Sponsored by: Smartfish Technologies
Review category: Input Devices
Manufacturer info: More info

What sets the Smartfish Whirl Mini Notebook Laser Mouse apart from many other wireless mice is it's patented ErgoMotion pivot system. It kinda makes the mouse feel like it's floating on air! This design makes the mouse much more comfortable to hold and reduces wrist fatigue. It's nice to see innovative thinking in the peripheral category.

Hi RR...!

I'd like to comment about the risk issue, I was having serious arm shoulder risk pains for mouse usage, started to research a lot and found out about vertical Mice, and many other weird devices for this problem.

I wanted to give a shot on vertical option but also wanted to pick a cool one, so I tried Zalman FPS Gun Mouse (Told my wife it was for work) This combined with the correct arm/chair position solved my problem almost inmediately, I love the Zalman, but since it uses a different set of muscles within the arm, after a year I started to have pains again so Im planning to go back to the regular mice, Right now I have the zalman FPS and a regular optical mouse for my left hand when I am very stressed.

I think a Poll about this subject would be very cool for guys like me, the kind of guys who are almost nailed to the chair.
.

Oh BTW I have even designed a nice desk for ergonomics and eyefinity 3 display setup.
some are 3d renders and some are real pictures of what I built.

Take a look, would like to hear ur thoughts.

Hi Rodney, this new style of review is certainly a good thing for you because you are just one man. Other places can do more in depth reviews and more of them because they have lots of reviewers but I think this style of review will be good to achieve a higher flow rate of reviews from 3DGameMan which I think everybody would support. Theres just a few bugs to be ironed out such as the camera shaking, which I think you can fix by putting the camera on the table, maybe on a box so its slightly raised. This will be a good comprimise between speed and quality I think. Might even be quicker because you're not having to mess about with doing things one handed. About the trademark lines and the more relaxed tone of the current reviews I think that it will be best to stick with the new style because I personally was starting to get slightly bored of the recurring phrases in each of the reviews ie "The motherboard tray is NOT removable" as I'm sure you were of saying them over and over again. They were good and entertaining at the start but I think now they were starting to become more of a hassle than a necessity.

Please let me know what you think :)

You pretty much hit the nail on the head and I appreciate your positive take on this kind of video review.

I might do a poll video and ask if people like my new relaxed style over how it once was. I would imagine most would prefer a more off the cuff, relaxed, entertaining style of video review, over my robotic video reviews of the past ;)

the shakey review is not the best and as some other people have stated your reviews have been getting a little worse as time goes on, you have stopped with your trade mark comments "unfortunately, the motherboard tray is NOT removable" "the feet are soft rubber so they wont scratch the surface" you seem to be trying to be more relaxed or "personal" in your vids. good when your are asking for polls etc but not on the reviews thats what made you stand out above all the other you-tube reviewers, crisp clear and professional reviews

Yea, quick video review where I don't use a tripod are a bit shaky.

As for your comment about me being more relaxed and personal on camera, I believe this to be a good thing. It should male watching the video review a little more enjoyable and flows better. I guess you could say it's less robotic ;) I can't satisfy everyone, so while some think it's better others won't. Ahh well...

When I have the option to go live on YouTube, I'll probably start doing live shows again.

i wish! i miss them alot...it was like a geek reunion to me
i just hope i get the chance to test youtube live too one day..and i hope it's gonna be better than ustream/livestream..gonna be tough to beat tho...i sadly can't do much on livestream or ustream, it laggs too much for me, internet slow
I was thinking of something cool you could do (if you do live shows again), do somekind of live webcam show with someone from the audience that HAS the product you're reviewing and ask his opinion about it, it's like a live one-to-one geek talk!

I didn't like this new style, the camera was waving around and I almost got a headache.
Also generally, I find your reviews worse than before.
And why do you keep disabling comments on youtube? It's really annoying and I think I will unsubscribe soon if you don't re enable them on all videos.

I like the fact that you're now also doing mini reviews. But for as far as I know it doesn't mean you don't need a tripod xD It's kinda shakey

Don't like the style and your getting worse on YouTube. why restrict comments on YouTube it just brings your ratings down.

Comments: Has it become your main mouse? Please be truthful! Thanks:)

Well, I was hoping to video review smaller items quickly, but without a tripod it does get a little shaky. So, I might have to re-think this approach.

I don't know about the video style there Rod, too much shaky cam for me LOL! Now on to the product, I can't see myself paying $50 + Shipping for this wireless mouse, when I can get a decent 2.4ghz wireless mouse, for $12 at my local Wal-mart, that has not failed me in a 1 years time, and the batteries last about 6/7 months, if I keep it turned off, when not in use, plus it has the back/forwards side buttons, which are a must for me when buying a mouse. Sorry Rod, this thing needs work, cause it's seriously not worth more then $20.

I like your style of video review, Rodney! I think it does help to add a little bit of shaky touch to add a bit of relaxation to your video. And don't worry about anonymous users telling you to enable comments in your YouTube videos which you may not have control over it, but hey, do what's best for you. Don't let commentors tell you what you can, can't do, or what's best for you and don't let it get to you, Rod. I like all your video reviews you've made so far and all I can say is keep it up! :)

You earned it! :)
