SilverStone Strider Plus 600W Power Supply rated Great by 3dGameMan.com

Video Review #1179 Summary

Sponsored by: SilverStone Technology Co., Ltd.
Review category: Power Supplies
Manufacturer info: More info

There are lots of so-called modular power supplies on the market, but very few are completely modular like the SilverStone Strider Plus series of Power Supplies. The SilverStone Strider Plus 600W Power Supply in 80+ Bronze certified, offers a single +12V rail, plenty of long modular leads and has a quite 135mm fan.

No ripple, efficiency at different loads, overdraw, or testing methodology?

That sort of stuff would be really nice to know. Even though it says 80+ bronze doesn't mean it's actually 82/85/82 efficient at 20/50/100 on every power supply. It's not really a power supply review if you use someone else's results, or go entirely by the specs of the product.

The repetitive stuff could probably be posted in a base video on "what to look for in a power supply", then link that video in each review, however that doesn't matter much, as it is important to know the stuff you mention, and deserves repeating.

I like how you go over everything you get, how it looks, how it sounds, but you really haven't tested anything. That's fine for cases (and I love your case reviews), but that's because you can't really test cases other than maybe cooling (which would be very nice).

For those who are interested, take a closer look at ST60F-P’s test report from 80 PLUS’s website (Average Efficiency is 85.45%): http://www.80plus.org/manu/psu/psu_reports/SILVERSTONE_SST-ST60F-P_ECOS%201983_600W_Report.pdf

This PSU actually meets the 80+ Silver Certification at 20% load, but it's just short at 50% & 100% loading.

is there any point in listening to the fan noise when there is no load on the PSU? That thing could run passive with zero load...

Am getting tired of your PSU reviews, they're all EXACTLY the same old stuff, pure lazy and recycled everytime for a PSU review.....

Curial importation (even if it's repetitive) has to be included in every review, because not everyone has seen it. I would suggest that if you don't like my PSU reviews, don't watch them or maybe skip the parts of the review you don't like.

You must get sick of saying all that in every power supply review

getting a bit more strict with the ratings by upping the standards, eh? :P Wasn't expecting a "Great" since it seemed about the same standards as other "Kickass" PSUs. But as always, a very informative review.
