The NZXT Sentry LXE Fan Controller is the best fan controller I've reviewed. It has a great look, lots of features and affordable. Being able to control up to 5 fans, monitor 5 hardware components is great, but the coolest feature of this product is the 5.27" external touch-screen display. This product takes the fan controller to the next level!
can you shout off fans
do you recomend this over the nzxt sentry lx or do you think this is better
I love the Nzxt it does a good job, the only draw back is it cant keep time. I set the time with my pc and within a week it loses about 2 mins, so far its 2 mins a week, other then that its a cool device.
Perhaps the battery is weak?
One other thing, its odd that only amazon carries it, you would think new egg or tiger dir would be have this available.
Hey Rod,
Really like all your stuff, very informative, etc, etc.
Are you likely to do a video review on the Sentry LX, 2 bay controller ???
From what I've heard, the LXE is way better, but I would like to get your opinion of the LX.
Cheers
Does this thing randomly beep?
Like the Sentry LX?
and randomly reset?
and randomly turn off fans?
and randomly turn off screen? (actually it becomes blurry and blinky)
if it's just the casing that got change-
then this is a POS
Sentry LX is the crappiest Fan controller out there
this looks like a nice upgrade compared to the lx model, although i'm still going why have a clock on there, its a fan controller not a stinking alarm clock lol :)
Never been much on Fan Controllers, and usually let my motherboard's hardware, and software combos control as many as it will take, but this looks really good for a high end full tower setup, that would have loads of super hot hardware. Good review Rod.
I have never really liked fan controllers, but that is pretty cool
Wow, this might be just the thing I'm looking for. I got my CoolerMaster ATSC 840 case today and the rest of my build will arrive early next week. My computer will not be within arms reach so there is no way to use manual front mounted fan controllers. The black brushed aluminum will match the black 840. I'm going with dual 480 Zotac AMPs so proper fan control will be vital. I'm mounting the PSU at the top and adding two 120 mm intake fans on the bottom to cool the cards. The hot air from the external air duct and the rear exhaust will be ducted(routed) outside the house. It will take a lot to tame the heat and noise of the 480's but I'm sure the ATSC 840 and Zalman coolers are up to the task. And this fan controller should help out considerably. Thanks Rodney.
Is it at all internally mountable?
No, this is an external unit. Unless of course you modify it.
Can you read the display from odd angles? I get the feeling this would be better if it had away of mounting into the case. Wireless would have been better because now you have a cord to deal with. This might work good in some computer setups and the price is also within reason.
Viewing angle isn't that bad at all, but typical.

Maybe you missed this video...
This'll look great with my Cooler Master HAF X!
if the cables on the card are modular then its great . It would suck though if they weren't , to much unnecessary mess in the case :P
