Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 Case Review

Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 Case rated Kickass by 3dGameMan.com

Video Review #1161 Summary

Sponsored by: Antec
Review category: Cases
Manufacturer info: More info

The Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 Case is a bold new styling for Antec, but it has the same excellent build quality and lots of excellent features. One feature that's unique is the top hot-swappable 2.5" drive bay. This case comes with 14 drive bays, 7 large fans and all have speed controllers, hole of the motherboard tray for the coolers retention plate, cable manage holes and more. If you're in the market for an excellent full tower case, keep this one in mind.

No filter for power supply = fail Antec.

I'm pretty sure this is a little less expensive then the HAF X, considering that should make it a good buy. I am falling in love with a lot of these new features, a micro ATX lan party version of this case with a huge handle would be a dream come true. Yes, I also second locks as well.

I feel bad with my 1200 case -__-... the DF-85 so much better for one thing: the dust filters at the front! 1 second to remove them! In the 1200 case it is so damn long..

I don't understand something Rod... the 1200, you rated it 100% kickass, and this one Kickass... It's the same case, improved. (Except they don't have dust filters on side pannel) How can you put kickass to this one?

Anonymous

you can put in there standard PSU and the non-standard antec PSUs.. i hope you will say that in the review

You know this case is cheap in Asia, just a little more expensive than the storm sniper and cheaper than the antec 1200 and this case suddenly comes out 2 weeks after I buy a 690 2 advanced, damn it. I haven't transferred my hardware to the 690 2 advanced and I'm thinking of selling it so I can buy this one, I really need your help Rodney, if I do that will it be worth it? Should I stick to the 690 2 advanced or try going with something like this one or the haf-x.

I'm putting finishing touches on the video review, so it should be up mid evening.

I would love to have a case like that, instead I have a cheap blue led case (28-4HLW-BK ATX Mid-Tower). It was good for its time but has no dust filters, not a very good cooling flow. ~xbluexfoxx

The windows looks quite nice, but personally I don't really like the military-style of the front - it looks like some kind of unknown weapon of the second world war. In addition to that it seems to be quite overpriced. Well, let's see - I'm definitely looking forward to your review Rodney.

I hope you can do the DF-30, or 35. They're the mid tower versions.

People could steal the ssd because it stands out, the 1200 is still my favorite.

The idea is you can take the SSD with you when you leave your computer unattended. That's if you are concerned about someone steal it, like for example at a LAN party.

If there are no filters over the fans this case is way to high of price. I like the look of it.

It has dust filters at the front and they are easily removed.

it does have dust filters in the front but looks like the side panel does not also it looks like the dust filters in the front are very annoying to remove ..

If all goes well, I'll be posting the unboxing video tomorrow afternoon and then the video review in the evening. Until then, please enjoy the picture video and talk amongst yourselves ;)

After watching your review and bought one.. I have to say this does deserve its 'kick ass' stamp

Its quiet and keeping my parts way cool! Totally going to keep an eye out on your reviews, and as always you only give the kick ass products your stamp!
