Nice case, the only thing that concerns me is the price.

Love the review, but this does not look like a case I would buy, cause of it's price, size, weight, and air cooling or lack there of. Also, I am not much a fan of water cooling, as i have never truly needed it. My Antec 300 fits right under my desk, and just barely, so those are the size cases I like to work with, in the sub $100 range. One last thing, I try to keep my total system build cost under $600, due to my tight monthly budget.

In the Youtube description for the unboxing video there's a link to www.unboxingvideos.tv but when I click the link I get "Access denied
You are not authorized to access this page. " figured you might want to know.

Anyone else having this issue?

Well, aside from cooling, no removable motherboard tray & weight, no . Not having a removable motherboard tray will not be an issue for most since this case is super large inside and there's lots of room to work. And weight is not really a concern unless you are moving it around a lot or you want to put it on your desk. As for cooling....

If you are water cooling this case it will be amazing

If you are not water cooling , I would recommend replacing the three 140mm fans with faster ones. Also add the four optional 120mm fans for better air circulation inside the case. To be honest, I would really do this either way.

Anonymous

Well when i do get it next week, i will be filling in all the optional spots, but may eventually replace the stock fans, as i don't have the money ATM for those extra ones, but will in a few weeks.
Thanks for replying!

Solution: Watch it on YouTube later if ya like. I'll still be uploading it to YouTube, but it will first go live here. This might change, but that the current plan.

Yea.. YouTube seems functional again now. So I will get it up within an hour or so.

I'm using aircooling with this case and I haven't had any heat issues since i've replaced all the fans and added three fans on the top. Maybe it won't work, if your pc is massively overclocked, but I think most people use watercooling already then, when they really wanna squeeze power out of their pc's.

Greetings from Finland! :D

Youtube sucks anyway.

This case blows if you're just gonna use air cooling, I would only recommend this for people who are into water cooling

Hello Rodney! I completely understand that you are pissed to those punks who hang in the youtube and post hateful comments, but... I really don't like to get my subscription box filled with videos that aren't even ready yet and I'd still like to be subscribed to your channel in case you post something cool like you used to. Can't you post the videos on youtube but keep the comments at your page? Cheers, PROWarrioR from youtube.

I don't know what to tell ya that I haven't already said. But YouTube is full of off-topic comments, swearing and hate, so I'm moving awa from it.

My main fucus now will be on 3dGameMan.com and not YouTube.

hey rod i sub to the rss on your rodneyreynolds.com because it has updates from 3dgameman.com as well (it keeps things clean).

anyway i would request that you update the rodneyreynolds.com site at the same time as this one is updated with the same impeded video so that i can get updates quickly or separate the too sites so that i can sub to both rss feeds.

thnx

I have had this case since January and all i can say about it, it's awesome! Anyone who buys this case, I recommend spending a little extra money for fans. Three fans on the top and replace the included 140mm fans (3), because they don't move any air. Noctua or Coolink are exellent choises.

Hello Rodney I've been waiting for some time for you to do this review and I'm looking forward to it allot!
FYI, I totally understand your decision to remove the comment section on Youtube, there is lots of unrelevant flaming that you should not have to deal with!

Keep making theese good reviews!

Rodney:

I've always liked the quality and look of this case, but have steered away from it because of reviews which said that it does
not cool as well as one would like on air. I like cases that
can do that well unless it's for a maniacal overclocker on a
pure liquid diet.

If you can take a look at some cooling options on this case, with and without a few extra fans say, I think it would have real value.

Sorry you felt the need to move your stuff over here from Tube,
but I certainly understand. Not that much trouble for what is
usually good and trustworthy information.

Thanks again,
CoffeyC

Hi Rodney, Its fightingfalconfan from youtube. Finally got my but over here. Good site. I will have to book mark this site so I remember to hit it up when I check youtube for videos. I don't leave many comments on your other video's, but sometimes I do and it's about the video or the product your reviewing. Keep up the good work your doing and I will continue to watch them. Wish I could donate to your work, but right now I can't. Got some important bills to pay for every month. Possible when I become a U.S. Marine I will start donating to you. I like your video's.

Saw this case at FRYs (random chance that I was even there) and was absolutely floored by its size. I had been eying this case online for months, but had no real idea of its size. I was completely impressed and now want it even more. It takes from Silverstone and Lian Li while retaining its own unique features that you would come to expect from Corsair. It is a pricey case, but it is actually cheaper than the other cases within its 'tier'.

Will be using this for my next computer build.

Like the site and the change from youtube.

Keep up the good work.

I thought Cooler Master ATCS 840 Full-Tower Case is a monster. Like you can actually look the dimension comparison between Cooler Master ATCS 840 and Corsair Obsidian 800D Case.

Dimensions of (Length x Width x Height)

COOLER MASTER ATCS 840 Full-Tower Case: 24.80" x 9.57" x 22.83"

Corsair Obsidian Series 800D Full-Tower Case: 24.00" x 9.00" x 24.00"

As a result, the COOLER MASTER ATCS 840 Full-Tower Case is a little bit longer than Corsair Obsidian Series 800D Full-Tower Case because it's been increased by 0.80" long. But for Corsair Obsidian Series 800D, the height is increased by 1.17" .

One of the most expensive cases i ever seen and biggest..

Anonymous

Eh, I was looking into getting one, but that case is only good for Liquid Cooling. That's it. Airflow on it isn't that great...no side fans. But for that price, you should be liquid cooling. I just went for the Thermaltake Spedo, best of both worlds lol!
Keep up the good work :D

The 3dGameMan YouTube was just getting filled up with off-topic, hateful, swearing and other silly comments. I'm also considering going though all of the older videos and disabling comments.

How is anyone who is intereted in the topic at hand supposed to filter through hundreds of nonsense posts. The comment system on YouTube ATM is virtually useless because of this. And I just don't have the time to go through every post, not with hundreds of posts per video and over 1400 videos.

Ok.... back on topic folks ;)

I've completed the Unboxing Video and Picture Video of the actual Corsair Obsidian 800D Case, which can be found above.

If all goes well, I hope to have the video review produced by Wednesday evening :)

hot dog!

To me this case has an airflow flaw. Correct me if I am wrong but in its stock config, it has 1 HDD intake, 1 VGA intake, 3x 120mm exhaust and 1 120mm exhaust. If you are not using a watercooling system wouldn't that make the CPU run warm?

Anonymous

Corsair over priced this case. just like how they overrated their H50. Don't buy from corsair
