The core speed on HIS HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 Video Card is 850MHz & the 1GB of GDDR5 128 bit memory is 4.8GHz DDR. It comes with 800 stream processing units for vertex, pixel & geometry data, 40 texture units & 16 raster operators. The pixel fillrate is 13.6 Gpixels/sec, texture fillrate is 34 GTexels/s & the memory bandwidth is 76.8GB/s. Please note that the cooler on this video card is not the stock blower style cooler & it only comes in contact with the GPU & not the memory.
I think the incredible strength of this video card comes from being able to expand on a budget. This is an ideal candidate for turning a mediocre gaming system into a really "Kicka$$" system by adding a second card in CrossfireX.
I like Rodney's reviews, I'd like to see more of his own personal opinions on the products and less time on fan noise and "jargon". Chances are if we are watching him, we already know the jargon and would like to see him put it to the test and more time in observation and conclusion.
I love your show. You're such a cool guy. Keep up the awesome work :D
I got my vapor X 5770 at 1050 / 1400 :) (no extra HS needed)
Stated in the review the HIS egg cooler does not help cool the ram...so don't expect to OC 1400 without Heat Sinks. Go with the vaporX
I Thought CrossFireX only worked like:
57xx and 57xx cards
58xx and 58xx cards, and so on.
Or is that incorrect?
The noise from the fan was not terrribly loud, but I did notice the temperature was a little on the high side. I know if you could have left the fan speed up for an extended period of time the temp may have dropped further, but it never fell below 44 degrees C and that's without playing a graphic intensive game.
Can HD5850 and 5770 crossfire together?
Should be able to run CrossfireX...
