Just built myself an HTPC and loaded it with a Win7 base and XBMC. I love XBMC, so much better than one of those small media players.

XBMC is cross-platform, so you can have it in Linux.

Server: Rosewill Legacy V6-S, AMD Athlon 5350 APU, 8GB RAM, 90W DC-IN PSU, Ubuntu Server

What version is that? I'm not seeing the same screen here, and keep getting an error

Hey Rodney, you misspelled "remote", I fixed the typo. Hope you don't mind :)

Oh, that's what I have.

While I don't have any problems listing the pictures in my phone, the only problem I have is listing all the music in the library -- probably because I couldn't figure out how to name the artists, albums, and tracks in order to see it in my phone.

It's case sensitive, so make sure everything is exactly the same on remote and computer. Like for example, XBMC is not the same as xbmc.

Very strange. I'd recommend hitting the www.XBMC.org forum, because this could be a device compatibility issue. Let us know though if you get it resolved.
