Nice work on the site there Rodney, awesome job. I really don't see the need for many repliers to be whining on YouTube about his change, it's for the better. The reviews, un-boxing and other videos are awesome and full of info. I was just wondering if you could move the reply box from the bottom of the page to the top, that way people don't have to scroll all the way down to reply, it' not a big deal but it would help a bit i suppose. Keep them vids coming, they are awesome.

I give up deleting spam! Spent hours weeding them out and it's just too dam time consuming having the delete one at a time and confirm each one. no

I sleep fine at night knowing we are banning people who deserve it.  Tivon

Rodney, are you up all after-midnight or do you use a spam filter (hmm...why does your spell checker mark "spam" as a misspelled word?) catch the messages before it gets posted here? I didn't see any of the posts with "9kCdFh jdnmjehjonfz..." (err, gibberish text) posted in here, so it must have catch spam before it gets here. The date and times that get sent to my e-mail address as e-mail notifications are 4/11/2001 3:59 AM, 4:01 AM, and about a couple of seconds later, so it's still 4:01 AM.

Update: 4:08 AM, 4:10 AM, 4:11 AM (watching my e-mail notification as I type)

It looks like you might want to block the IP address, but I'm afraid this will not work due to ISP's DHCP server.

Update 2: 4:12 AM twice, 4:14 AM...

[Word filter caught my d-word; sorry :(]... Looks like some anonymous poster is watching my message...

I just might have to disable anonymous accounts all over the site to reduce the nonsense some people are posting. I tell ya, there's a small few that will always make it so difficult on everyone else.

We are implementing an easier more obvious registration system soon. So once that is completed, anonymous accounts might be a thing of the past.

I had about 93 new messages as of today, which makes it about 110 messages total in my e-mail inbox account (now about 94 or so, 95...).

Yeah, it sucks ass man. I've been deleting them for a while now. Funny enough though they appear to have been marked as spam because I see the Submit-Ham option. I just wish if it was spam that it wouldn't post and trigger your email. And I would love to have a multi-select options to delete all the spam at once.

If the spam does not get posted into this thread, then why am I notified of new posts that contains spam through e-mail if the spam filter catches it?

This does not make any sense to me.

I'm not going anywhere Gman!  I had a feeling this was coming after your previous video you posted telling people to cool it with the trash comments a while back.  I say good riddance and glad to see them back where they started!

Peace man.

Thanks.

I believe most would agree with you, but there will always be a few who wholeheartedly disagree. Those are probably the ones leaving off-topic and inappropriate comments.

Some might not also realize that disabling comments means lost YouTube revenue, but so be it. I believe this will be good for everyone in the long run.

channel was bored and empty without comment :(

This is a note to Buck-O. If you're reading this, the thread we were speaking on has been closed (though your posts remain intact,) so I thought I'd post here in case you still intended to reply. I had started to answer you on the original thread but was unable to post my comment as the thread was closed while I was writing it. If you still want to reply then either post as a new thread there or just answer here, whichever you prefer. I will keep an eye out for your response. Cheers.

Oh, I'm sure that person is reading this thread.

But remember, no matter who is leaving comments here, please keep them on-topic. As a reminder, the topic here is the disabling of 3dGameMan YouTube comments and not releasing video reviews to YouTube first.

If comments are off-topic or inappropriate they will likely be removed.

I guess you two go back a while then? I'm not really interested in what's gone on in the past; it isn't my business. I don't want to be dragged into any old feuds.

I'd asked a question, that's all, and wanted the opportunity to get an answer. It won't be on topic but the thread it was posted on was redirected here.

I really didn't have time to read all the posts, but it's very similar to past non-sense a few members got on with.

There will always be a few who dislike you for some reason or another. And they will do everything in their power to discredit you, slander your name, etc. And if they can't do it here they will try and do it on other sites, forums, etc. Stuff that I've never done, nor would I ever do to them or anyone else for that matter.

I truly believe that folks who doing this have miserable lives which is unfortunate and I pity them. I might pity them, but that doesn't mean I'm going to tolerate it on my sites.

So again, please stay on topic :)

I'll post here a comments I just left on the 3GM YouTube channel:

"Not many will morn off-topic and other inappropriate comments. Disabling them was done because a few insisted on filling the channel with really silly pointless comments. This is a tech channel, not some gossip nonsense channel. I've asked countless times if people would refrain from doing so and it has continued. Most long time viewers will back me 100% on disabling comments because they probably didn't read them anyway.

Seriously, how is it you folks expect me to respond to people who have on-topic questions and comments. Alternative, leaving comments on my 3dGameMan site is win-win for everyone, except of course for those who want to full the channel up with junk. On 3dGameMan I will be able to keep it on-topic and respond to most everyone's questions/comments/suggestions.

I believe that YouTube has to implement a different registration process and comment system for those channels who want to use it for any seriously work. For now, the YouTube channel comments will remain disabled."

I obsoletely back you up 100% on this one, Rodney..

By the way, I apologize if I shouldn't ask, but what happened to my comment about all caps and the use of "childish" (I apologize for name-calling if I mentioned about the attitude with all caps)?

:)

Hey Rodney, please tell me; what happened to the Q&A videos? You hardly making any of them lately.

Moving to your own website is pretty good move, but I suggest making some improvements to it (most design improvement), I can specify the things need improvement if you wish.

Well, I try and do at least one Q&A video a week, usually on Monday or Tuesday. And I plan on continuing to produce them since they go over very well. Remember, I do a lot of other content, Poll Videos, Unboxing Video, Picture Videos, Video Reviews and more. So each week, on average I'm pumping out 8+ videos. I might make it seem easy, but it takes a load of time and determination to pull off.

Maybe you're not aware, but I've done 330 Q&A videos to date: http://www.3dgameman.com/q-and-a

Yes, please send me your ideas on how to improve the 3dGameMan site experience; gameman@3dgameman.com

I think we've become spoiled by YouTube and I never really got into the channels thing. I started watching video reviews back in the day when we had to download the entire video off realgn!

Also, I think it was mentioned in previous comments--and I agree--that the homepage should feature the 'newest' review and that it should stick out as the newest! Right now it's not super obvious what the newest is.

Keep up the great work!

Ahhh yes, the Realgn days. Man... that seems like a lifetime ago now. A lot of change since then.

And to think, I started producing video reviews long before it was cool. Years before YouTube, other video sites or for that matter social networking sites even existed.

there only 1 thing i dont like about this site, the video reveiws are not in order from newest to oldest...is this going 2 get fixed? if it does, id love this site.

Anonymous

forget i said that (look up one comment) but on the reviews, they only go down to 508. why?

This is a relatively new site layout and backend for 3dGameMan, so we are still entering all of the video reviews. We are hoping to have this completed in a month or so. I have to give credit to Jared Manard for this, because he will be the one entering the over 500 remaining video reviews.

We intentionally entered over 500 of the newest video reviews because they are the most relevant, pertaining to recent hardware. But we are now now entering the older video reviews so that all of my video reviews are on 3dGameMan.

You can sort the review by review categories (cases, video cards), product rating or companies.

So let's just say you wanted all the Video Card that have a 100% KICKASS rating by HIS, this is the result: http://www.3dgameman.com/reviews?category=Video+Cards&rating=100%25+KICKASS&sponsor=5862

Not really, since all videos will still be eventually updated to YouTube. So all is not lost if you really don't want to come here first to watch my videos.

Although, YouTube comments on all recent and future videos will be disabled. I suspect this will not be an issue for most people since YouTube channel comments is filled mostly with off-topic, harsh, and inappropriate comments. I don't see the point of having a tech channel that's supposed to help people, be filled with garbage.

Here, comments will be on-topic because we have more controls in place. And this is win-win situation for everyone. Being able to ask me a question directly should also help many people. Well, that's my hope anyway.

Remember, my main focus has been and always will be 3dGameMan.com, not YouTube.

People who are making stupid comments should be ashamed of yourselves. Youtube should also have a better commenting system and consequences for offenders. personally i welcome the idea 3dgameman site will be more exiting!!!

Rodney almost laughed out, was I heard wrong? That part is sooo funny =)
Anyway, could you still provide HD 720p video, especially the reviews?
Great review and always great video by 3dGameMan!! Keep up the 100% Kickass work ;D

I started watching your reviews on you tube... after a couple of videos I found it easier to just come to your site. I bought an Element G case after watching your review on it. ..

Your reviews are phenomenal ...

I added your 3dGameMan as a Tab on my browser.

You are not denying people on youtube access to your videos...but I'm glad to know we have the perk of watching the reviews and video's first.

Good Job...

Hey, just wanted to let you know. I do support what your doing, Wiht the comments. I will still watch your videos, simple because you show me what I want to see.

But I will more than likely just watch your videos on youtube still. Just because its easy.
