I have a note 2 5.5 . Before I had a galaxy s1 4.0 , and a nokia 5800 3,2 inch before the galaxy s , so yes , smartphones are becoming larger and larger
Yeah I feel some phones screens are getting much too large, but perhaps it's because I have slightly smaller hands. I agree I think 5 inches is the max I would even consider to get but ideally for my hands I prefer the 3.5 to 4.5 in. range. Anything over 5 inches I would consider a phablet and anything over 7 in. I would consider a tablet.
They'll keep getting larger too. Tablets changed what people expect from their mobile devices. Often, they use the same OS as their phone and so they want to be able to do on their phone what they do on their tablets. Whereas people used to be happy with GPS, calendars and weather...now they want to read books and watch movies, which doesn't work too well on tiny 4.5" screens.
I think 5inch is maximum for a smartphone. smaller displays are hard to typ.. especially if you have big fingers.. 4.6/5inch is good for me anything bigger or smaller no thanks.
It's getting waaaay too large!
Nokia Lumia 920 great phone, I don't want it, it's toooooo big! It doesn't fit in my pocket! Samsung Galaxy III Way tooo big!
Go back to Nokia 3730.....!!!!
*** When I bought smartphone i discovered that i have greasy ears and dirty hands... *** :)))))))
Smartphone? I use a Samsung E1360. It fits in my pocket, it dials numbers and it even sends texts! (It has a blasted internet feature as well that keeps turning itself on but the browser is hilariously useless)
Hopefully one day there will be a device with the power and screen real-estate of a tablet but will still magically fit in your pocket like a regular phone. Perhaps using the O-LED tech and folding/rolling up?
Until then, Samsung E1360 ftw!
A phone should fit in my pocket so I can keep it with me at all times in case of any important calls, texts or emails. I use a tablet to take notes on, play games on and browse the internet. That stays in my bag because it isn't as important. Phones are getting too big to be nice to use with one hand, but too small to use as a tablet (plus they're more expensive!). I guess some people want the best of both worlds in one device, for me it makes sense to have two devices for different purposes.
I have a HTC ChaCha. I find it easier to type with and it fits snug in my pocket.
I want a larger phone but I am NOT buying a Samsung.
Don't own one. There all pointless.
Are you serious? I don't know how I'd do without mine. I use it for everything; work, stating on time, organized, play, keeping in touch with friends, flashlight, etc...
I'm right now on a business trip in Hong Kong and I see a LOT of Samsung Notes and similar size. Women keep them in there purse and men in a laptop bag or men purse. I find them too big. I prefer to have a iPhone and tablet on me then only one smartphone that is used as smart tablet.
They are becomming way way wayyyyyy too large. I have a 4.7 SGSIII
3,7" on my htc desire, a bit small when used as SatNav in the car, other than that it's fine. My next phone will probably be 4-4,3". I don't want anything bigger.
i vote for (Yea, getting to large)
but i will give you example my old galaxy s2 is 4.3 but it is the same size of my htc one x
if it is bigger screen with the same size no problem men
i still hate to carry around my htc one x thats why i bought Motorola razr v3i ahh my lovely old phone <3
I think 4 - 4.5" is a good size at the moment. Bezels are getting thinner, so we can have bigger screens in smaller phones.
My Nokia 808 has a 4" screen.
I'm loving my Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I can't say it's the perfect size until I get my hands on a 5" or 5.5" screen phone. To me, it would make sense to have a bigger screen for surfing the web or watching Youtube videos. I guess, killing 2 birds with 1 stone....phone/tablet.
Funny... This morning when I dropped the kids off to school, I noticed a friend had a new white Note 2 phone. She's a small lady, but she was showing off her massive smartphone in a pink case. I wanted to go up to her and ask if she liked her tablet ;) Note 2 is a sweet phone though and one I was considering when I upgraded, but just to large to be practical IMO.
I dont think they should get any bigger. Ive got a Galaxy S3, any bigger and I would have problems using it with one hand, which is important for a phone imo I have fairly big hands and at times I still feel its a tad too big to comfortable reach some parts of the screen with one hand.
Got a LG Cookie 3" screen. Too small for me, I have big hands.
Rodney, please turn autofocus off, I feel like watching movie directed by Mr. Bean :)
Yea, friggin auto focus on this webcam has a mind of it's own! I disable it and it resets itself. One good thing about it is, if I need to get a closeup, I can. But this refocusing all the time is annoying, I'll give ya that.
Hell no, I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 and I don't think its big enough, I want the Samsung Note 2, I think that's just the right size for a phone, do they need to be any bigger, nah but wouldn't hurt, I'll never understand why people like smaller phones like the Iphones one of the reasons I went for the Galaxy S3, is because it was larger then the Iphone, plus it wasn't an Iphone so there was that but bigger is better, more screen real estate, more room for better hardware, so in my opinion, bigger is better, now I don't think all phones should be as big as the Galaxy S3 or the Note2 but I do think more and more phones should be at those sizes.
I have the DROID DNA 5.0 inch tablet. It's more of a phone then a tablet and I love it. I've had it for two months and am completely comfortable texting and amazingly comfortable browsing.
if u dont want a big smartphone just buy a small one and vice versa.
on some chinese site u can get them as big as 6 inch
A 4.7" screen is about max for my hand. And since I like using the phone with one hand, I really can't see going any larger unless I grow another hand.
There's An App For That
Ye , they do become too large , for me the 4.3 inch screen is perfect.
Yea, 4.3" is right in the middle and would work for most.
they are big, but, iphone is way too small for me, i like the big dense screens
my xperia j is 4 inch, but the next time i buy a phone it'll be the 4.7 inch lgoptimus 4X HD
The iPhone feels a bit small in my hand as well, but perfect for anyone with small-med size hands.
