Well considering this site probably has more PC platform fans the vote will swing that way, but it's for just reason as well. PC's have the most customization and potential power and although you pay more, but you usually don't have to worry about backwards compatibility as much as you do with consoles.
I only game on PC and have for many years. Only with PC do you get complete freedom to customize your platform by upgrading your hardware or even the game itself. Plus, I never can get used to using the controllers on consoles--I'm a keyboard and mouse man.
Consoles have the advantage in local multiplayer and ease of installation and use, while PC gaming allows more customization and modding.
sports games on PC not so great with a keyboard and mouse.
Two words:
COMPATIBILITY and CUSTOMIZATION
I've always enjoyed gaming no matter the platform; however, when considering the debate between an equivalent versions of a game for the PC and console... I will ALWAYS go PC. Sadly, many manufacturers are either not making truly dedicated PC games any longer or are instead porting over (and rather badly, in many instances) console versions.
After many years of avoiding it, I did finally break down some time last year and buy an XBOX. Could I have instead used the money I spent on it for a new PC rig build? I suppose so, but I thought the wiser of it and have thus waited to commit to a new build from nearly the ground up. I don't enjoy certain aspects of console gaming (namely the controller), but there are many things that I do like. The same can be said of PC gaming.
Hopefully there is a resurgence of sorts for PC gaming, but I don't quite see it working out that way. Gone are the glory days we once new... for the console, despite whatever feeling or reservations one may have about it, is clearly the king.
Of course. Your playing with a system that the game was made on.
That only sounds right!
Thing is though, many PC games these days are console ports.
I`ve been a PC-Gamer for over 10 Years now and i pobably will be in the future. I had to buy a PS3 a few month back because there are some games that just don`t get released on PC like for example Metal Gear Solid or the beautiful HEAVY RAIN. So now i own a Laptop, a Smartphone, a Gaming-PC and a PS3. Life`s gotten pretty expensive xD.
Besides. I`m gonna stick with Windows 7 as long as there is no gamimg-capability difference between 7 and 8. Window 8, to me, looks like a rushed product and if i can i`m gonna wait for Windows 9. By the way, i have a theory about Microsofts development strategy. First they release a bad OS and than a good one: First Bad Windows 95, first good 98, bad 2000, good XP, bad Vista, good 7, bad 8.
Your list is incorrect it should read:
Windows 95 Good, Windows 98 Bad, Windows 98SE Good, Windows ME Bad, Windows XP Good, Windows Vista Bad, Windows 7 Good, Windows 8 Bad
There is a litle flaw in your list, I don't see windows 2000 as bad, largely on par with xp, but Windows ME was the worst junk ever. Even bad by m$ standards. Windows XP 64bit was junk too.
I have windows 98 on an old pc(for playing old games) and it is horribly unstable, but felt stable by what you had at that time.
One of the problems is when they change fundamental stuff in windows requiring new drivers. Those will always take a time to get stable. So vista felt worse than it was. The same with windows 2000 which was not meant as a gaming os.
LOL... You might be right about M$'s OS strategy.
Its the same old story and down to preference.
I will always prefer PC for emulators, better performance and all round flexibilty but if you want simplicity, Wii fit and Mario then PC ain't the best choice really is it? Consoles to my annoyance still have an edge on PCs by being monitored for cheaters, better/larger game libaries and simplicity, just load it and go and PC DRM is really REALLY! getting on my , sorry to say.
PC gaming is like an open world compared to Consoles.
It's like comparing Linux to Windows.
the gaming industry pushes u 2 buy a console.
i mean allot of games that come out now come out on the consoles first and a few months later pc gets a port of that game.
i also use consoles butt nothing beats a mouse and keyboard
According to my Avast antivirus, this site is infected with a variant of an embedded Trojan. It claims DeanEdwards as the problem? Please can you advise???
I like PC gaming a lot, but I also love Nintendo consoles for the innovation.
Well of course it's the most powerful and the most customizable, you can play with joystick, pad, wheel, pedals for flight sim, trackIR, etc, etc. That's just a tip of the iceberg; how can you beat that ?
The pc is the best gaming solution yes i love it BUT
if you want go cheap the console is the right choice
With same amount of money you cannot expect to play
latest games without gettin a shitty framerate
PC FOREVER, I play Dota2 for the past 2 years, and Dota 1 for the past 8 years on PC and it brings an amazing joy every time I play :D
double post..ignore
yes for me PC is the preferred platform. It's more of a concept to me, and main important thing is the customization. PC give me unparalleled option of customizing my hardware to select hardware as well as the software -this is the simply Utopian concept of free world. You can choose any part and make any combination and get your dream machine of your choice. I hope similar kind of open system concept will be there in new and upcoming hardware/computing front. In case of Android, we can pretty my play around with the OS, I want to see something similar in the hardware front.
PC's will always be the better platform, the fact is, PC's hardware has to be improved before consoles hardware can be improved, PC's make consoles possible.
I think in the future and always there will be house hold PC's that are better then any other device but all in one PC's will become more customize able tablets will become the new consoles and consoles will basically become PC's or TV's will become all in ones, a Tv, console and computer all in one or something like that,
That or something like what you see in the youtube web series H +, where computers have entered our brains or the matrix, heh I hope I'm alive for that one, I wouldn't think twice about jacking in, you know for the first couple hundred years the world will be what ever you want it to be heh but meh, that's if the world lasts that long heh.
Quite obvious the answer is yes! This really sums up why.
