CoolerMaster Cosmos Pure Black ... most beautiful case ever
... had to cut some extra holes in the mobo base for CPU backplate and cable management
I really feel like trying to base a case from aesthetic value is pointless. True, a ton of colored cathodes and a few backlit fans might be a nice touch, but rather than use up the added power the power supply to simply make a case look good, is rather a case perform better overall. That being said I use the thermaltake element g case. It has the colored fans, and granted, its not aluminum, but it does offer intake on the side with air focussed right on my graphics cards heat pipes. I can't rate the case as the greatest becuse it does lack a few features I really wish it had, but it has excellent cooling and really was a toss up. Price-wise, cheaper then an alumminum case, but it has done as I wanted it to and I can't complain too much as it still keeps the temps down
i put So so my pc case been used sines 2000 i painted it black but i left the stickers in middle white
Voted "I like it", which would be equivalent to "Kickass". It's a Cooler Master ATCS 840 which I've modded lightly.
i've had the same case for about 7 years now, an old Thermaltake Xaser III, love the side panel tha tyou can see through it, and it was good when i first got it, infact i bought 2! but it's just about hanging in there now, temps are good but need something better as it's not holding up too well with my new graphics card after i had to remove the side fans due to the large heatsink on my CPU.
i'm using an nzxt whisper full tower case.
i disassembled the front door because it only opens to 90degrees and it's begging to be broken.
i used four 5.25" bays to mod a front case fan that uses a 140mm case fan.
i bought a lian-li 140mm internal bay fan that exhausts hot air out.
-the 140mm fits but it's oversized. a 120mm is a better size.
aesthetically, it looks pretty crap because there is no fancy looking front cover and the mod job i did was pretty lousy.
in terms of performance, it's modest. during winter, it's able to heat my room.
Crap, I'm using Xclio's Black Hawk full size tower, the fans when't out in it fast and when I went to replace them, I found out that the fans where made just for the case, you couldn't stick any new fan into it, I don't know what to call the plug they used but, no store sold case fans with the kind of plug they used, at least that I could find, so I had to jimmy rig, the new fans into the case, having to put holes in the top to get to the screws,
on top of that it has poor cable management, hardly any room in the back panel area, the hard drive bays where too close to the front fans, that's another thing, the fans in the front, they where plugged into a case of some sort that plugged into the actual tower and if you didn't slide the fan casing into the tower VERY carefully, you'd bent the pins the slid into the tower, they where so week, there was no way of not bending them, so I totally regret getting my current case, sadly, its the only one I have, so I'm stuck with it.

Very Pleased with it - Could it be better - YUP!
bit old design.
I have the Level 10 GT from Thermaltake. Bad looks, fantastic cooling and great features.
i got a nzxt phantom with a blue led fan on the side, it look amazing
I so wanna get that case, how good is the cable management on it?
I have the Raidmax Aeolus case. I voted i like it. Cable management could be better, and its construction could be a little sturdier, but overall, not a bad case. Not a bad case at all.
I voted Totally amazing and thats for my Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 and then I got a Cooler Master HAF 932 that I give a So So
My thermaltake Armor+ VH6000SWA is a good case, I paid a little more than I'd have expected given it's build quality isn't as good as I was expecting and there's too much plastic for my liking, some allingment issues with the PSU and side panels aswell oh and the aluminium front flaps are the most ridiculous things Ive seen. Yes they're aluminium but the magnets are very weedy and they dont do anythin but add a nice look and stop the optical drive going in and out freely. It's still a very big case and i suppose thermaltake were having to use plastic and cut build quality fit and finish and the aluminum to get this size of case to the price they did. Still fairly happy with it though. Might try a Lian Li case one day mind you.
Cheers
lian li PC-P50,
love it, but its getting a little small.
i have a thermaltake element v black edition
and its awesome.only thing i dont like is that the side panel window is every small..due to the 250mm fan on the side panel...they should have put a 200mm fan and a bigger window
but i plan on modding it myself
I have the Silverstone Raven v03b. I don't like the case. It is made with cheap plastic, is oddly configured, and creates a host of unnecessary problems. I would not buy this case again. I would not recommend it to anyone.
Cooler Master ATCS 840 Black and very happy with it. But it could do with a full steel body instead to reduce vibrations further or at least some dampening material between case and the panels (Yes steel is usually heavier but who moves a case like that all the time?). Also holes in the motherboard tray for mounting workstation class SSI-CEB-EEB boards are missing.
Nice, most of you are happy with your cases :) There's nothing like a sweet chassis to look at ;)
#1272 - Rosewill Future Case Video Review, update video is on youtube, so where is it :s
When i use the link in the description, i will come to your site but its saying "Acces Denied - You are not authorized to access this page."
Hey Rod, why dont you start a contest of PC Mods...!
U can post pics here and useras can vote for those. Or u can pick the winner.
I will loose of course but could it be fun.
I have a Cooler Master Centurion 5 II case. I like it very much since I had a previos generic no name case. It has cable management, good build quality, fan options and a very sleek look.
Xigmatek Asgard. It only cost me around £30/$45 when I bought it, and for that price it's phenomenal. Decent size mid tower with tool-less design for cards and drives, space for up to 4 120mm fans, lots of mesh, hole in the motherboard tray for retention plate AND the interior is coated black.
I'd dare say it's the best budget case on the planet :P
I love my Raven RV01. When I eventually replace it I will definitely go with a case of the same design e.g. motherboard rotated 90 degrees. I don't understand why other manufacturers haven't used this design.
I have a Coolermaster Cosmos 1000(Rated 100% Kickass by 3DGameMan)
It's a very nice case, very quiet, decent ventilation with filters. I think when I bought it a few years ago it was tops. Now, with more modern components, I wish it had more places for intake fans. I did some mods including a side window with two 120mm intake fans blowing onto the graphics card.
Cooler Master Cosmos S......an 100% kickass product
Antec 1200, the very first revision. Not as amazing as it was when I first bought it two years ago, but still very happy with it compared to my old rig.
Antec P182B
It's the perfect case IMO. After almost 5 years and constant system upgrades I still don't have a reason to buy a new one.
Gigabyte 3DAurora
I like it because it is aluminium, has a good sized window and has reasonably good cooling (if you upgrade the fans, the ones it comes with are bad), but it is getting a bit old and is pretty crappy compared to new cases like the Silverstone Raven, NZXT Phantom and Cooler Master HAF X
Rodney reviewed the model up from mine (same case, but better front panel) a few years ago and gave it a kickass rating
Cooler Master HAF X
Outstanding.
Antec 900 here. Like it a lot.
Great case when I bought it 4 years ago, but not so special today. I really like cases with a painted black interior. Really adds a nice touch.
HAF X. Thought it was perfect when I got it. Then the TJ11 came out. It's a great case, but I want the TJ11 now. lol
I have the NZXT Phantom Black so i pretty much think it's amazing :)
I don't even know what my case is, I've never even seen it before and it so ugly, it's like a really old looking white with a blue/gray color and blue LEDs...it's really nasty, plan on getting an Antec Dark Fleet within the next month though.
I've got a CM Storm Sniper (Mesh edition) and love it, great cooling, little noise and it's tough as a tank.
CM Storm Scout, I like it quite alot but I don't like it quite alot aswell =P
I like everything except the weight, how 'fussy' some of the things are especially the cheap and rubbish 'tool less' expansion clips(half of mine have broken) and hard and limited by small space behind the motherboard tray to hide/tidy the wires.
If I could choose a case to upgrade to it would be one of the cool looking NZXT cases or the HAF X, I love the features of the Corsair 600T aswell but no window.
I've got the Fractal design define XL, because of your review :D
hmmm.... Totally amazing!
Antec Lanboy Air, modded ofc ... I would say "Totally amazing". <3
My case is total absolute cra...zines. I love my case is WICKED! I have the Corsair 600T White Ed. It beats my old HAF 932 for sure!
So So, It's a Thermaltake V9. (4 out of 10). It looks good from the outside and has plenty of air cooling. However, the top fan hits the frame making noises. There is no rear CPU access hole for removing the cooler. Cable management is crap. Motherboard is not removable. All of the fans died after a year. Had to modify the case with different fans to make my cooler fit and added filters to gaping holes on the side door panels. And removed the whole screwless card system because it didn't lock anything down securely. If you ask me the price for the Tt-V9 is too high, good thing it was free or I'd return it and get a Lian Li. I'm also not a big fan of Antec cases that everyone seems to love, they still owe me a $400 dollar cherry oak computer desk when the rubber feet burned black circle marks into the wood. :/
Current case: Sucks
Looks: Aweful
Ventilation: Great (cause it barely has covers)
Size: Too Damned small and tight, I have recently bought a video card riser cable)

Planning to build my own custom PC case design out of plexiglass and painted solid materials

That would be a pretty cool looking case if you did actually build it.
U mean the ugly one? I build it, if I may use the word build for this.
I basically took the main covers out and use a led cooler in the front
the panel gives it a cool look, but its still looks like frankestain.
the readiactive logo Is vinyl decal, and also have a a EL wire to install ther but still dont know where.
I preffer to save energies for that 3D render I did too...
It sounds to me like a great project for the end fot his year
I have a HAF-X I love this case!
Xigmatek Elysium for me, THE BIGGEST, BEST, case you can get, especially watercooling. PERIOD.
I think many cases are overpriced these days, their features just don't justify their prices.
As long as you get cable management/tons of fans/decent design, what else do you need?
Corsair 700D, everything awesome about the 800D for less money. Don't need the hot swap bays and I got a window separately for cheap. Big interior, lots of cable management, blacked out exterior and interior, so much awesomeness in one case!
I have the White Corsair 600T, which I purchased very recently, and so far, I am very amazed by it's awesome performance when paired with a Corsair H60 watercooler :p
I have an Antec Nine Hundred. It sucks because:
1. It lights up like a x-mas tree
2. Not enough room for my gfx-card and harddrives at the same time
3. No hdd led
4. Heavy
5. The front panels cannot be fastened well enough, so you tend to push them in.
6. No 5¼ -> 3½ bay for my card-reader
my case....well it's crap (CM elite 334) i don't get why i bought it at all..
im looking for a good case, RV02-E or a 600t maybe...then i start doubting and end op having spend it all, on crap i really don't need :(
