Okay i seen Duke ...like the guy in the Vid say´s.....i just total crap 4 a Game with that old Engine ... BUT THE GUY IN THA VID IS THA SHIT ....Man He´s serious Cool ;)

Anonymous

I have bought it and played it, the graphics do suck and the controls are terrible for the 360. Other than that, it's exactly what I expected from Duke.

Anonymous

The only reason it is rated so low is that people are bitter, The graphics are better than that COD bull and its not as boring as the same game over and over, there is no inovation in COD games but people herald it as a second coming of video games every time a "new" COD comes out when its the same game that they still own. 8/10

Just beat the game, all the previews for the last 12 years look a lot more fun than this game. Honestly they should of made the game 10 years ago and made 2 sequels. More nostalgia, more sales - games would have made a lot more money back in 2006 with X-box for sure. People missed out, seriously - I want to play the original Duke's now.

When people lose sight, they pray for better vision. Even though the path of ignorance was their choice, they believe it to be an outer entity like karma or bad luck - in thus believing an outer cause will cure it. You want change? Stop throwing dirt in your eyes to attain mercy for looking weak.

erm... yeah.... ive been looking forward to the game for years now, and i had already pre-ordered it long ago.
im a huge duke nukem fan but damn DNF sucked big time IMO

totally not worth the wait.

ive completely played the game out but i more kept on playing in hope it maybe would get better but it didnt.
i could write an entire bookpage full about everything i hate about DNF but im not gonna waste my time on that.

the game pretty much sucked and i regret spending my money on it, wish i had chosen to download it first after all , so i knew it wouldnt be worth the money before i wasted my money on it.

as great as duke nukem 3d was, so much does DNF suck

First of all for some strange reason, this game is eating alot of my CPU and running my CPU heat 10 - 20c + up to 70c on my Monitor which is unheard of. I know the cooling in my system is not 100% because of some NZXT fan defect, but I've never gotten temps that high before.

The game is enjoyable, I'm actually playing it, maybe due to curiosity. I don't play a lot of games because I they don't seem to go anywhere, I've still yet to finish Dead Space 2 and Assasin Creed Brotherhood... yet I'm finishing this. It's simple, funny and unique, but the motherboard tray is definitely not removable!

It's not as good as the hype, of course not.

For me it looks like they made the game 12 years ago - and then "forgot" all about it, and released it now.

Or as my friend said - looks like they need some money, so they make this game very quickly...

"Duke Nukem Forever is so boring! Don't spend your $60 because the graphics suck"

This is a perfect example of the kind of opinions you should not listen to. The game is not boring, and if you play it on the PC, you will see that the graphics do NOT suck. The game was originally designed to be a PC game, not a console game. If your expectations of the game were that of a new mainstream 2010/2011 FPS, then your opinion will be the same as all these unprofessional reviewers on these mainstream website like gamespot and IGN. If what you expected was an old school, 1997-2001 style FPS with modern graphics and somewhat modernised gameplay (remember this game has been in development for 14 years) then your opinion should be the same as mine: Got exactly what you expected and are content with the finished product.

If you're not happy, then your expectations of the game were way off, and you clearly do not understand the history behind this game.

Thats the way it is. Plain and simple, and if you disagree, then you are simply wrong.

Huh?

Why don't you go finish Duke Nukem Forever then? It's literally pointless to spend $60 for shitty graphics, storyline, and muddled gameplay! If you look on game reviews on Dukem Nukem Forever, you can see that the majority of gamers don't like Duke Nukem Forever because it's boring, overall...

If your the only one that likes Duke Nukem Forever, then you must be illiterate or an idiot...

I picked it up & really enjoying it, its not better than any other shooters out there, its not ment to be. But its very fun & good.

A game in which women are depicted as sex objects, men can be men without reserve and you get a serious nostalgia kick out of it? Do you like the A-team to this day? Haters will be hatin' (I'm looking at you, feminists/metrosexuals) so it's really a no-brainer. 10/10

While I put this under the newsflash, I'll repeat it here. I've played all versions if DN games back when they came out.

Then I looked at the trailers and gameplay vids of DNF. I have to say after all the on-again/off-again of the past 14 years (that's right, this sequel was 14 years in the making), I am not impressed in the least.

Sure the hokey dialog may have been cool enough 15-16 years ago, today it is just plain dated. The graphics are definitely sub-par in comparison to games today as well.

When my daughter asked me what I would like for fathers's day I originally told her DNF was out. After seeing the reviews, trailers, gameplay vids and general user opinion, I told my daughter to scratch that and take me to a nice brunch instead.

Manic's verdict: 2 out of 5 mickeys.

Having played DNF then DUKE3D again (after all these years) some hours later, I can say that while I was disappointed in this new title, I still don't think it was the worst game ever. Most of the gameplay is fun and reminds one of the good old days, but with the halo style HUD and weapon management mechanics it just didn't "Feel" like a full throttle Duke Nukem game to me.

While some levels were great, some weren't so great and some just felt like they were trying too hard.
Graphics aren't the best, but that shouldn't matter if the game has depth. DNF seemed to lack depth at times with some puzzles being so in your face and obvious I was supprised Duke even called them "puzzles". I remember in DUKE3D you had to find a mirror and shrink yourself at times to become small to crawl through a small hole, DNF just gave you a "shrinking" pad to walk on. I wasn't able to find many secrete areas either which added to this. The duke burger level was quite cleaver, but this cleaverness needed to continue on through the game.

Also, on a side note. I assume I'm almost at the end of the game and haven't even used the Jetpack once. Where is that damn thing?! Those Alien bastards must have stollen them all.

So all up, not a bad game, just an average one with no real skill required to play. Maybe I expect too much after having played Half Life and Portal titles.
5/10.

Ok, so let tell you in general what I liked and what I disliked about the game.
SPOILER ALERT :
What I like:
Yes, everybody has an issue with the graphics, but they were good enough for me. There are many elements that fit Duke's character (weights, beer, monster truck ect.). The quotes are still epic and humorous and there are many interesting moments.
What I dislike:
The gameplay is bad. Every mission until the one with the power plant is flawless, after that there is only confusion. The situation is like this: "Ok, so we made a plan, but we thought up a second plan and in the end, we are going to do something completely different(if it makes sense). In the final mission the player expects a grand final battle, yes, that battle occurs, but the final mission is long and boring and the player looses interest.
The game is very easy and short(took me about 6-7 hours)at the maximum difficulty. Recently, I played Duke Nukem: Manhattan Project and it took me a lot more time to finish it and I had fun the whole time(and the game is quite old).
The ending ... is bad (to put it mildly). There is something like "to be continued" at the ending, so ... let's stop here.
Overall, I'm disappointed, the wait was not worth it.
Conclusion:
Bl*zz*rd are way better at epic old game sequels.
I'm expecting more from Duke's brother in arms - Serious Sam. :-D

Serious Sam will kick ass seriously, double the gun-double the fan :-),this game is big fail....

For a game that people seem to think sucks so bad, it's 14th on Steams play list thing. That's people playing right now as I type this. Not to bad if you ask me. I still say Duke kicks ass.

I really enjoy it. I find it funny how a lot of the things complained about are the same faults in highly praised (and in my opinion far more sucky) games like COD. For example, linear levels and repetitive enemies. COD is one path all the way and has one enemy the whole way, a guy with a gun.

For what Duke is, I think it's fun and I have no regrets that I dropped $50 on it. But I have the PC version and from what I have seen, the PC version seems to be more polished than the console ones. I love all the little DN3D references that mostly the hardcore fans will catch. Some of the pop culture gags are a bi dated, but on the same token, this game was sitting dead for a couple years before GearBox picked it up two years ago.

If you go in with realistic expectations, I think anyone can enjoy it.

Duke Nukem Forever is so boring! Don't spend your $60 because the graphics suck, story is muddled, and Duke Nukem hasn't aged a bit for 12 years... What the hell?!

Well... The graphics kinda sucks and the playability sucks even harder and the fact that you can only carry TWO GUNS IN A DUKE NUKEM GAME says the rest.

But it can be better than Crysis 2...

... but thats no compliment...

Even the Spectrum 48K back in the 80's had better games than Crysis 2.

i've actually enjoyed the game so far. and i agree that most critics really don't get it. if they actually played DN3D like i used to back in the day, they might understand the whole point behind the game. it's fun if you actually know duke nukem. i'm not too picky with the graphics but for this game they could be better, but i oversee the graphics because well, it's duke nukem.

I was going to post something about Duke Nukem in our news, but then I watched someone play it and was not impressed. The trailers clearly mislead most of us to think the actual gameplay was going to be much better.

The game was great fun, but it's not Duke 3D good. I'd give it a 7 out of 10, we seriously need mod tools and it would deserve a strong 9.

everyone that reviewed it just doesnt get it. duke nukem is the same as it was back in the day. cocky, sexist, macho guy is exactly what i wanted to see in this game because its just so funny. people think hes too childish and what not. they dont get it.

Every Duke game after Duke Nukem 3D was rubbish, Not played the new one but I guess it looks very 90's style. I actually prefer the old skool first persons like doom, blood and duke 3d so I'll prob be happy but most of today's gamers are used to the new style COD etc..

It's a 7 for me, the humor is good and the monster killing is fun. Although the levels could have been a lot better and it could at least have played some music in the background, but it's definitely worth more than 5/10

I was looking forward to buying this game after it had been delayed numerous times but I was really disappointed once I watched some gameplay and reviews. I'm going to save my money and wait for FEAR 3 to come out next week, I do want to play Duke Nukem but I refuse to pay the full $50 for a half-finished game :/

Don't have it yet (no money), my bud have it but it's not working but from trailars ee looks ok. Graphic u say well Crysis was all about graphic this is not and i like the graphic from trailers so ye don't care, but im sure it's 100 times better then last 3 Cod games ;p (or more last good for me was CoD4).

Anonymous

In my opinion I honestly thought this was a good and entertaining game which brought back various amounts of nostalgia and humor by parodying modern things such as halo, inception and doom. and I don't give a sh*t about graphics, super mario on the NES is way better then any COD game will ever be because of the challenging game play and immense replay value, however i didn't like the price of Duke but almost all games are automatically 60 bucks on the console market that is why i stick to P.C games and the voice acting wasn't the greatest and dukes constant grunts annoy me. finally I enjoyed the game play which includes puzzles and driving sequences in which the mechanics could have gotten a little polished but wasn't too bad. overall 8/10

ps. I think people are over reacting Duke is supposed to be a parody of modern things like duke3d was back in the day its not meant to be serious in any way

to all the haters. this is NOT COD this is duke nukem. review the first game before reviewing this.

I bought it and it wasn't a real waste of money. I played a couple of levels and each time it's the same. (I'm now busy with the Hoover-dam missions.) You go from point A to B and the music gives the intro that you can expect enemies. No real surprise attacks (No Puzzles or KEYCARDS) I gave the game a 5 / 10. Babes are fun, Ego boosting was better replaced with a decent health-bar, the shooting is fun, the speeches are great and the car levels are fun. But it didn't gave my that Duke feeling, it's just a linear game.
