heres a pic of my modded Dell XPS 9000 by the way. I sold it and got the Aurora ALX then again plan to sell it and build a new one. I think its worth sharing since its unique? I just missed it so much. Its a mod after all not custom built.

I used it to run 3 busy vmwares 24/7 but i wanted to get 12gb or 16gb ram because it limits me to use only 3 vmwares. each vmwares im running is on 1 core and 1 thread and atleast 512mb ram. the computer can run those 3 vmwares on full process for each declared cores/threads on each of them while playing Rift on high. Will be selling this alienware aurora alx nextweek and assemble a new computer because this computer seems to be too genuine that i rather sell it than play with it with some upgrades.

I will never forget this system knowing that the gills on top of it raises when turning on rift because of the 3 vmwares already eating almost half of my cpus processes. This is also the reason why overclocking is not an option for me. Also, those vmware images has to be on an ssd. (still thinking about the revodrive)

would really benefit on a 6 core processor since i use 80% of a quad i7's proceses 24/7 and consuming 4.5gb of ram on just 3 vmwares. and yeah, i will end up building a new system again. but i7 970 is just darn too expensive for me. i only work at dunkin donuts hehe.

So there it is, as of now the system is running 24/7 and using 45% of the i7 960's processing power 24/7 and consuming 4.5gb ram since im limited to 6gb ram. I also use it on my everyday surfing emails etc and games. This is why i call it "The ALXserver". please wish me luck on selling this system thanks

I use a Desktop all the time. When I was in College, it was VERY different. A laptop was indispensable and was a MUST. A good laptop as well. I couldn't imaging needing to be home in front of a desktop to write all those papers. My laptop and book bag was more important than my cell phone.
