I have an Apple iPad which is really one of the best ones out at the moment, and the new iPad 2 should be out shortly.

There are lots coming, but until they arrive and get good reviews I wouldn't go with anything other than an iPad.

i liked the ASUS tablet but i don't like Win7 with the UI being same as on PC..they should make it for tablets like android and apple did..
i'm also waiting to look what the Ipad 2 is gonna be like and then i'll decide..
makes me think, my ASUS eeePC is slower than their new tablet, ouch, tech goes so fast..

I have a gaming PC and all gaming consoles and it definately doens't get you laid!

iPad 2 will make the android mishmash look amateur. Can you believe the App lag? Netflix streaming? Talk about playing catch up!

Leaning towards Asus Eee Pad EP121, Need a Windows Based Tablet to Run Cad if it will, http://www.asuseeepad.net/ like the 12" Screen about size of Legal Pad should be great for on site work. I am Hoping Rodney will give a good review on it soon.

I played with Etch-a-Sketch when I was a kid, 30 years ago...
And still I prefer E-a-S over something as trivial as a Tablet. eww... gag.

Like you, I'll probably be waiting for the newer Android OS. I've heard that the current OS does not really support the full potential of the hardware.

I want one! But with windows android is ok ipad is garbage!

Hey Rod, you might want to give that tablet a review when that comes out! :)

i had an omnia 2 for a while ( i know its a smartphone) and never felt the need for a tablet that will underrun my battery life of the omnia2. See for me tablet should be able to run at least a day (24hours) and i dont really care the manufacturers are incapable of making that. i have a smartphone and a laptop now and i think its better to have that combo, tablet is just a toy for kids

Maybe, but not an Android one. Not overly thrilled with the iPad either. Really like my Samsung Focus, so I'm hoping to see some of that tech end up in a tablet of some kind.

The Atom isnt that bad. Razer said they are working with Intel to make it, so maybe they have developed a new much more powerful Atom.

They are designing it to run games, so Im sure that Razer will make sure it can run them.

Not from the video I have seen. Only stuff I have seen is WoW and it looks horrid. Looks like 640x480 res. Very blocky and jagged looking. The keyboard is a neat idea, but I rather have it attached to a proper laptop. And made by someone other than Razor. I see so much Razor stuff come back to my store. Look up the pealing issue there keyboards and mice have. "Great" quality their. Last thing I want is an expensive machine made by them.

Personally I'm not planing on getting one, ever since the rumors began about Apple working on a tablet I was not impressed.

In my opinion, Apple just makes something and then the whole world jumps and does the same. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Apple is making terrible products, I myself own an iPod touch.

Anonymous

I don't think I'll get a tablet, because I don't really have much need for one right now that a smart phone couldn't do just as well.
I am looking forward to the Razer Switchblade. When that gets released I might consider get one.

I've already got one.

Where's the option for 'Already got one'?

I've always loved tablets. First one I ever had was an HP-TC4200. Wouldn't be classed as a tablet in today's market but that's how a lot of early gen tablets looked... basically just a laptop with a flippy screen :-)

Got an iPad at the moment. It still amazes me how much I use it day to day considering my first thoughts on it were only of how crap it seemed to be.

Hopefully, following the Windows for ARM demo at CES, and the massive surge in consumer interest of tablet PC's we'll get some pretty affordable Windows based tablets this year.

A windows based tablet would be the most ideal for me and I would defiantly think about getting one as long as its for the right price and it could sync with my Blackberry.

Having said that, The blackberry playbook supports Java, Flash, Air, and several more. So for me this is the best choice right now.

But lets face it. iPad2 will be out in a few months as well and they will most defiantly sell the most. Why? I have no idea but Apple fans seem to buy whatever Apple releases. I don't know how Apple gets away with charging anywhere from 50-300% more for their products. Its just ridiculous.

It has to due with their brand positioning and the fact that they have a hardcore group of users that show brand loyalty.

Apple doesn't compete with all the smaller, cheaper products. They position themselves as a niche where people who want quality products pay a premium for their stuff.

I might get a tablet....MAYBE. But I don't have the cash for it right now. Macs look so sexy for web developers, but I'm not making a ton of money. So I'll probably avoid it.

Nope, still considering upgrading the desktop and gaming netbook to optimal performance and low funds. Tablets seem like very exotic media devices to me, but maybe the following year.

Itching for an SSD at the moment, but that's hard to scratch!

I think Honeycomb is goin' to be awesome...

The Android Tablets look darn cool, but I have no use.. I already own 2 Desktops, a Laptop and an iPhone 4.... The gap it would fill between my iPhone and laptop is small...

Anonymous

I won't be getting one, although I have used an iPad and its a pretty great experience, but I personally feel its price way too high, I mean it retails for $549 (CAD), If it was priced closer to the low or high end netbooks it would be reasonable, but I mean you can get a core i3 laptop for less..

I also liked the way Blackberry Playbook works and looks..

But again I mean I'm assuming it'll be expensive, I can't justify spending this much on a tablet, especially considering its not going to be anything close to a full PC experience..

I was really into Notion Inks Adam tablet. 15 hour battery life, tegra 2, fantastic multitasking interface and all for under 400$. After seeing Motorola's xoom I feel like I may end up getting that. However if it comes out at 600$ I don't think I could justify the cost. Notion Ink has said they will be upgrading to Honeycomb in the future so I wouldn't be losing that.

i might get the motorola xoom when it comes out

i first need a netbook (long battery life) but if i would buy a table than it would be that eee transformer or so from asus the one whit the keyboard. but 2011 looks like a very interesting cpu year so i also wait for that

Anonymous

I might get a tablet IF they eventually get up to as powerful as a decent laptop, or better. The way i see it is, why buy a tablet which is essentially a less powerful laptop, when you can spend the bit more and get the better comp? If tablets ever become an actual extension of my computer, through 3g or blutooth, and just sync everything right in windows, or mac i guess. that would be cool, but until that happens i won't get one, i also want one of those new age batteries that last forever, you read about them, but never get to use :(

I really think the tablets now are completely not worth it. Like the original e readers. Wait a couple years and get for insance an ipad like 3rd-4th gen, i mean they dont even have cameras

Well, there are some tablets based on the Android 2.1/2.2 OS that are super cheap (<$200) right now, but many are low res and have slower processors. But pretty much all you need for browsing the web, watching videos, answering emails and that type of thing.
