I play everything Maxxed out even though I run a 5770 Radeon card.

I never change my settings because the new Catalyst Drivers come with a mutithread boost that takes advantage of my AMD 955 BE cpu. That may change when newer games start requiring more bandwidth but for now I've not had any issues with any game I run. Sometimes I kind of wish that I had the bogs like I used to when I ran my games on my old single core Notebook system, especially since I generally run at Hardcore settings for game difficulty as well.

I've found myself spinning in circles looking for the threat occasionally. lol

i really like frames, 60FPS might not be enough for me, i tend to like low mid settings which help me with spotting things better as that the environment blends harder with players at lower settings. :)

Usually play all games maxed out. If i cant then its time to upgrade haha.

If the game's not that demanding, then I go with maxed out settings. If it's demanding like Crysis or Starcraft 2, then... low settings, just to keep my FPS smooth and sound.

i used to have eyefinity 5760x1200, but canned it and got a Apple Cinema Display and play at 2560x1600, i found that the aspect ratio issues, and compatibly issues on so many games just wasnt worth it. Plus other then racing game the side screens just have no use. But i play MAX settings 2560x1600! (i7 920 oc'd to 3.8, 12 gigs 1600, ati 5870).

1980*1080 and max out. If game doesnt run with maximum settings its time to buy better parts :D

Asus Maximus IV Extreme // Intel 2500K@2600K + NH-D14 // Kingston HyperX 8GB 1600 // Asus GeForce GTX580 SLI // Corsair HX850 // Corsair Graphite 600T // and more... *Enthusiast Overclocker & Gamer*

I used to run with a ATI4870, but I've fried that trying to help a friend, so I'm running with a 3870 right now (soon to be replaced).
But on the 4870 I would usually use near max settings, that would be 1920x1080, 4x FSAA and anisotropic filtering x16 and Vsync!
Vsync is very important, but can be a problem for games running below 60 fps.
I will usually start removing shadow detail if it doesn't run fast enough.

Some effects should NEVER be on in any game: Motion blur and film grain.
It was near impossible to turn off Motion blur in Crysis as it would forget that particular setting each time. I've never been able to run Crysis with everything maxed out, that would be a slideshow.

Rodney, did you ever wonder why certain "features" are put into a game, like motion blur in a 3d shooter?

almost every game maxed out ( most on 1080p and few (like metro2033) on 720p, very happy .. soon i will upgrade from 2gigs of ram to 4, hopefuly the games will run even smoother

Its not your graphics card stopping you from running metro maxxex out its you ram mate, As I have a 4870 (512) and i run it in 1920x1080 maxxed DX10 but i have a Q6600 @3.0ghz and 5gig ram as Metro does like its ram

If in doubt mod it anyway

Pretty sure if anybody even attempted to max out ANY setting for the TWO games for a Mac that they could go from cooking eggs to barbecuing steaks for the whole family. Hahah >:D

Anonymous

I max the heck out of it on my 6870 at enthusiast or very high settings on crysis warhead or crysis at resolution 1080p but I won't activate my aa because it doesn't make any difference and it cause my pc to slow down by a little. Overall its playable but the frames will drop when it is very intensive.

Anonymous

to the extreme....not maxed..and im saying extreme because i force aa in games that dont even support it through nhancer or nvidia inspector also i am using downsampling if the game doesnt support AA (even when trying to force it )for a 3200x2048 resolution:D

GTX 295
1920x1200

Usually max out if my rig can handle it. Certain exceptions like Crysis though.

My old GTX 260 could run Crysis maxed. Something must be wrong if you could not do that on a 295.

Anonymous

i use low to medium depending on the game @ 800 by 600 =(
but i'm planing to buy a 6850 or 6870 to play @ 720p
does anyone know which graphic card is best to play 720p max setting?

I run maxed when I can. 99% of games I can max with no real issues. I don't even have a top of the line machine.

Anonymous

I have it as high as my computer will handle:
Highest settings on older games like BF2.
Mid settings on FSX

AM2 Processor w/ single GTS.8800 vid card

Anonymous

I use high at the moment because i am running a single GTX 260 still. December 27th I will be getting 3 GTX 580's then maxed out like my life depended on it.

Anonymous

LOL, maxed out of course!
It depends of course on the game. Crysis 2 will maybe break my video card again - hopefully :D

Anonymous

I've got a medium end system, and I still crank it up to high. Dunno why. I think it's just because I'm obsessive compulsive about having the games look better then on the new video game systems, and still have it run better.
Just waving my E-penis in front of my friends face when they can't get the best head shots in a Xbox game with a fancy joystick, as compared to a mouse, and keyboard.

Older games in high, newer games in medium. At a maximum resolution of 1366x768 because my monitor can't display more than that (18.5").

Yeah, it sucks but I can't afford anything more expensive. Although I bought a HD6850 (it arrives next week) so I'm gonna be able to play at high settings, always at 1366x768 thou.

AMD Phenom II x4 945 @ 3GHz with a CM Hyper 212+, Sapphire HD 6850 @ 820MHz (core) & 1100MHz (memories), 4GB Kingston HyperX 1600 CL9, Thermaltake V3 Black Edition.

i usually try maxing out the game, if not i go with optimal settings, so i can get the best my pc can handle

I've got a 24 inch screen.. with 1920x1080.. I love eyecandy.. I love maxed out settings.. but I own a 9800GTX+. Isn't that silly? :( I have to play everything low. Even when I put the resolutions waaay down. Like 800x600.. doesn't look like shit and poor fps. Donation would be appreciated :(
