I have 2x 2.1 speakers sets hooked up to my PC: An old Logitech 2.1 system connected to the stock onboard sound, and a pair of M-Audio BX5's with a Klipsich sub connected to an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra to use with a DAW like Pro Tools.
I have a 5.1 Speaker setup but I don't have the space for the rear speakers. I just placed the rear speakers right behind the front speakers on my desk. A bit useless but why not. Even it does not come from the rear they are two extra speakers to listen to music etc.
