I have a set of magnat viva 2 speakers with an good amplifier, it gives an awesome sound.
Gaming, music or movies, it doesn't matter it sounds great but.. it is only stereo.
They are quite old though.. but still sounds better than those setups with subs, maybe not as much bass but the mid and high tone's are way way better =)

Game for fun =D

I have a 5.1 Speaker setup but I don't have the space for the rear speakers. I just placed the rear speakers right behind the front speakers on my desk. A bit useless but why not. Even it does not come from the rear they are two extra speakers to listen to music etc.

5.1 is still winning the race, with 2.1 a close 2nd :)

i also use a pair of SONY studio monitor MDR-V150 stereo headphones.

they have fantastic, rich sound quality with a powerful low end bass

although they are only stereo, they still have this oddly amazing surround sound to them, if someone is behind you in MW2 it sounds like they are actually behind you

I have the Logitech X-240 2.1 system. I got it so I could plug my iPod Nano into it. Too bad it sucks as a stand for it. lol

It's a decent cheap (was given to me) system and sounds pretty good for being cheap.

Currently 2.1 system (2x JBL LSR2328P + 1x JBL LSR2310SP Sub) connected to an ASUS Xonar PCI-e soundcard. For gaming I have Sennheiser EH150 headphones. A week ago I've ordered another pair of JBLs - so it is going to be a 4.1 system very soon. My old PC that I use for gaming too, with Windows XP on it, is connected to a Creative Labs Cambridge Soundworks FPS (Four Point Surround)1000 4.1 system.

Have 5.1 speakers on onboard audio and 7.1 headphones on audio card I use to game with. teamspeak and half the games out there have the ability to specify the audio card you want to use. recently started playing NFS shift and was playing Grid before that and those 2 do not so one annoying thing about this setup is in those cases where you can not specify which card in game you need to change the default audio card on windows before starting game and again after exiting

4 Speaker Setup (Stereo)

Intresting results...

anyways I got 2.1 but I use the a Razer piranha stereo headset 50% of the time because speakers disturb my partner.

I also don't believe in stereo headset, yet...
