Modern Warfare 2 Special Ops Impressions

Microsoft Attacks Mac With iMovie Clone (MSFT, AAPL)

Microsoft is starting to shoot back at some of Apple's strengths. Its latest move is to release a free, simple video editing tool to compete with Apple's iMovie. The new Windows Live Movie Maker has a cumbersome name -- no surprise, given who made it -- but in the demo video embedded below, it looks simple and functional.

PS3 Slim Officially Announced, Will Go On Sale September 1

Sony today officially announced the PS3 Slim at GamesCom. As previously reported, the PS3 Slim will retail for $299.99 when it is launched during the first week of September. Sony says that the PS3 Slim will have all the functionality of the currently available PS3 models and will be available in a single 120GB SKU. The PS3 Slim is 32 percent smaller than the original and consumes 34% less power.


Windows Mobile 7 devices to launch Q4 2010, 6.5 and 7 to co-exist?

In a rumor that could spell doom (ok, maybe not doom) for Microsoft Windows Mobile, DigiTimes is reporting that Microsoft will adopt a two pronged approach for its upcoming Windows Mobile handsets when it finally launches Windows Mobile 7. Rather than go full bore with Windows Mobile 7 in early 2010 (as was expected), Microsoft will allegedly debut a more touch-friendly version of Windows Mobile 6.5 in early 2010. This will be followed by Windows Mobile 7-powered handsets sometime in Q4 2010.
