"The Wii U is powered by an IBM Power multi-core processor, but Nintendo has not told us either the number of cores or the speed of the processor. The graphics will be powered by AMD’s Radeon graphics technology, which is said to be based on the 5000/6000 series chip; but again, Nintendo provides no specifics as far as the graphics core speed or memory. It will support full 1080p HD graphics.
"In Windows 8 it looks like the ChkDsk utility will get a revamp to speed it up. Microsoft also tweaked NTFS, the Windows OS file system so that the NTFS "health model" conceived the machine's hard disk as a single unit that was either well or damaged, and took the machine completely offline and made unavailable to the end user while ChkDsk ran. In Windows 8, however, the NTFS scans for problems in the background while the system remains online, and an initial attempt to fix problems on-the-fly."
"Nearly two thirds of IT managers are so stressed that they are thinking of packing it all and joining a new age commune where they can be calm. "According to an email from a Japanese retailer, Wii U is set to launch in North America on November 18, 2012, while Japan will see it one week later. The email was an internal one and it came from popular Tokyo game shop Media Land. Apparently, the mail was circulated among the staff and snatched by WiiUDaily. Nintendo has already said that WiiU will launch in fall 2012, which is no surprise since most major consoles launched in that time..."

"There has been a lot of talk recently regarding the actual name of Nvidia's upcoming graphics card based on the Kepler GK104 GPU and according to our info, the card will launch as the GTX 680. The GTX 670 Ti name was used by Nvidia internally and some suppliers simply picked up the name. The rumour has it that Nvidia planned to launch it as the GTX 670 Ti but the GPU performed just a bit better than expected and thus it was decided to launch it as the GTX 680.
"The current plan for Intel is to stick with DDR3 and the low power variant, simply called DDR3L with voltages up to 1.5V. The current plan is that Haswell, a CPU that comes in 1H of 2013, supports DDR3 and DDR3L at 1.5V 1600 with dual channel memory interface. Broadwell 14nm might change this but only in 1H 2014 and beyond... It looks like it will be a while before we see DDR4 memory for desktops or notebooks as it doesn’t looks like RAM is a big limiting factor, or bottleneck, for current and near future architectures."
