Batman Screams At Strangers in Toronto [Video]

"We set out to make "Shit Batman Says" but once we got out in the world, it turned into a much, much bigger phenomenon." - MY PARENTS ARE DEAD! :)

Facebook makes people sad

"A team of Utah Valley University boffins has established that regular Facebook users tend to be a bit more sad than non-users. The reason? Well, it all seems to boil down to envy. Facebook simply offers a quick glance into the lives of others, much like the East German Stasi, and in the end many users simply don’t like what they see.

Google End Piracy, Not Liberty

"Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA. The Senate will begin voting on January 24th. Please let them know how you feel. Sign this petition urging Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before it is too late."

[GAS] Reader Ani-Mia Cosplaying as Lulu from Final Fantasy X [Pics]

"[GAS] Reader Ani-Mia recently sent me a few pictures of her cosplaying as Lulu from Final Fantasy X, and I must say, the costume looks very authentic! I’ve also included a few other pictures I stumbled on while stalking looking through her Facebook page."

Coming Soon: Star Wars Burgers

"To promote the re-release of the Star Wars prequels in 3D, a French fast food chain is offering two varieties of themed burgers – the Darth Vader, on a black bun, and the Jedi burger (which is conveniently and thematically brown, it seems). Of course, this begs the question – what ingredients should be in a Star Wars burger anyway? Wampa meat?"

TekSavvy Pricing Increase

I'm actually using TekSavvy for my internet service provider and overall they're great. A reliable service with decent speed, plenty of bandwidth at an affordable price. However, it seems they are jumping on the Rogers/Bell money train and giving way to the CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications - Canada's regulator for telecoms, radio and television services) mandate. Rogers (AKA Robbers) and Bell (AKA Hell) both have plans that make them rich and customers poor due to the User Based Billing (UBB).

Man tries to shoot wife over Facebook addiction

"51-year-old Harry Hibbs Jr. of Washington County was jailed on attempted homicide, assault and reckless endangerment charges after he tried to shoot his wife on Christmas Eve. The reason? Well, Hibbs was apparently slightly miffed that his wife, Anna Hibbs, was spending way too much on Facebook, so he put a gun to her head and pulled the trigger. Luckily, his gun maintenance skills seem to be on par with his social skills, so the gun jammed..."

Activision uninvites porn star from MW3 party

"Activision has apparently uninvited Dutch porn star Kim Holland from a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 party in Amsterdam. The gaming outfit was apparently unaware of Holland’s previous works, so to speak, and when it pulled her invitation shortly before the event. Writing in her blog, Holland said she was unpleasantly surprised by the decision and described it as hypocritical. Holland is a big fan of the CoD series and she seems to be a keen gamer. Holland then went on to question Activision’s moral priorities."

Happy Halloween: Google Doodle carves some awesome pumpkins

"Happy Halloween from the Google Doodle, which uses mammoth pumpkins and some pretty sophisticated pumpkin carving to send its holiday message. It's no trick and all treat. The Google Doodle often uses a static image when it temporarily revamps its home page. But Monday, users are treated to a time-lapse video showing huge pumpkins being sliced and diced and, as the sun goes down, emitting a flickering, ghostly glow -- and the name of the search engine, of course."

Cheap Tricks: Bing Survey Shows People Favor DIY This Halloween

"It’s looking like a do-it-yourself (DIY) kind of Halloween this year, based on findings from a recent Bing-commissioned survey of Americans. According to the survey, nearly 40 percent of respondents indicated they are abandoning store-bought outfits for a DIY costume, with 43 percent of survey respondents believing that purchasing a Halloween costume you’ll wear for one night is too expensive (nearly a fourfold increase over last year’s 12 percent).
