"In a talk held at Aalto University in Helsinki Finland, Linus Torvalds addressed a question from one of the audience members regarding issues they had with a laptop running NVIDIA graphics and the lack of support for Linux. Linus' response can only be described as a very coarse and honest answer, skip to 48:14 to watch the question and his response. "Parents, who hope that giving their fat kids Nintendo Wii exercise games will sort them out, are fooling themselves, according to new research. A study undertaken by the Children's Nutrition Research Centre at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, and published early this year in Pediatrics, the official journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics said that kids that play them are just as fat and unhealthy as ever.

"The Wii U is powered by an IBM Power multi-core processor, but Nintendo has not told us either the number of cores or the speed of the processor. The graphics will be powered by AMD’s Radeon graphics technology, which is said to be based on the 5000/6000 series chip; but again, Nintendo provides no specifics as far as the graphics core speed or memory. It will support full 1080p HD graphics.

"Internet “journalism” is a dirty business. I think everyone should be aware of this fact, but it seems few are. The business model isn’t built to support well thought out commentary or unbiased coverage of news. At the end of the day, the people counting the money only care about traffic. In turn, every website’s primary goal is to make you load up the page. They don’t care if the content is good, and in many cases, bad content works even better..."
"According to an email from a Japanese retailer, Wii U is set to launch in North America on November 18, 2012, while Japan will see it one week later. The email was an internal one and it came from popular Tokyo game shop Media Land. Apparently, the mail was circulated among the staff and snatched by WiiUDaily. Nintendo has already said that WiiU will launch in fall 2012, which is no surprise since most major consoles launched in that time..."
"GameStop could ban the PlayStation 4 if it blocks the use of pre-owned games.
We already know that publishers and developers despise the second-hand market. They claim they're losing money because these consumers aren't purchasing the pricy, mint copies. Only the retailers are generating revenue from these used games and thus are driving prices of the retail versions upwards.
But some of us on the consumer side say we flock to used versions because new copies are just too damn expensive. We bought the hardware, and we should have the right to play second-hand copies..."
