"What brands come to mind when you’re thinking of desktop speakers? Creative®? Logitech®? Klipsch®?
How about when you’re considering home theater speakers? Sony®? Bose®? Yamaha®?
"Fusion is either going to carry AMD through to the victory parade, or drag it through the streets for a pelting in the village stocks. The whole future of AMD's CPU division rests on GPGPU computing being catapulted into the mainstream. If this happens, the company's APUs can theoretically obliterate Intel's CPUs in GPU-accelerated apps, and thump Core i7 like AMD64 thumped Pentium 4. If it doesn't, however, then AMD's CPU future is going to look pretty bleak.
"Computex — With OCZ now out of the memory business, we weren't surprised to see the company's Computex showcase dominated by solid-state drives. However, we didn't expect to see a mechanical hard drive included in the mix. The 2.5" drive isn't made by OCZ, but it does ride shotgun on a new PCI Express x4 card dubbed the RevoDrive Hybrid."
"PC Pro has taken an in-depth look at Wi-Fi and the factors that can cause connections to crumble. It dispels some common myths about Wi-Fi problems — such as that neighboring Wi-Fi hotspots are the most common cause of problems, instead of other RF interference from devices such as analogue video senders, microwave ovens and even fish tanks.

The date was chosen as to commemorate the release of the first Star Wars film on 25 May 1977, but shares the same day as three other similar fan 'holidays' - Towel Day, for fans of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy by Douglas Adams, one possible date of Star Wars Day, and the Glorious 25 May, for fans of Terry Pratchett's Discworld.

"Word on the street is that Windows based tablets which can use ARM processors will be in the shops by the end of 2011. According to Digitimes the lack of system performance will mean that the platform will be mainly used for targeting the tablet PC market. Quoting sources from notebook players, Digitimes said that there are several problems which need to be solved with the idea and most notebook makers are wary about it."
"A survey of PC Pro readers suggests PC makers are out of touch when it comes to glossy vs matte screens. Almost three quarters of those surveyed said they preferred matte screens despite laptop makers moving almost exclusively to glossy screens. ... Why is the industry hell-bent on not giving customers what they want?"
"One of the criticisms of SSDs is that they are not as reliable in the long term, however that appears to be starting to change.
Intel have announced that it is increasing the warranty on its Intel SSD 320 from three to five years. This would be the first time a consumer SSD has been given a warranty length that matches that of a conventional hard drives. Before now, you could get a lengthy warranties for an SSD but only if you used an enterprise drive which would set you back an arm or a leg."
