"Western Digital announced its solid-state hybrid drives (SSHD), storage devices that combine high-speed NAND flash memory and high-capacity rotating media, last September, but since the products are still in development, they will likely miss window of opportunity this year and will only become available in new notebook PCs in 2014."

For sure :) And let's hope WD does go ahead, even though they're a little late to the game.

I love WD Drives and can't wait for their SSHD. I'll probably be one of the first to buy one of these if they ever get around to releasing it. Kind of seems they waited a little too long IMHO, but then again I guess the economy and all that stuff slows things down. Anyways, lets forget about moneys for a moment and enjoy the last few years of faster media storage.. ahh yeah. :)
