"A man whose son died after playing computer games is campaigning for greater awareness of the risk posed by their excessive use. Chris Staniforth, 20, who would played his Xbox for up to 12 hours, died in May from deep vein thrombosis (DVT). His dad David believes the condition may have been triggered by long gaming sessions and is caused during long periods of immobility."

"You don't play games at all? poor you =P"
Well, i play games, i like it, but i don't consider my self a "gamer".
Actually since i play video games, i am a gamer, cause that's the only definition of the word in my opinion.
I just don't like much the kind of people who hit their chest saying things like "yo i'm a gamer, i play everything, i know how to do it, you don't know sh!t. When i was playing.....you were....".
Those kind of people to me are losers, probably will never have a normal social life like meeting a woman, make a family, have children, hang out with friends ecc.
"All men are evil and will act upon their vicious nature, if given the chance."
Niccolo Machiavelli (1469-1527)
You don't play games at all? poor you =P
There's limits that people REALLY should know not to push themselves over when playing games etc, this is one person that had no sense so went WAY over.
And Machiavelli, as in the Machiavelli from renaissance Italy Assassins Creed 2? haha cool but at your quote, that's basic instinct, the primitive side of humans that we can choose to act on I think, it's one of the things that's different from other animals =)
"Maximum, Game".
What an idiot!
I laugh at people saying they are "pro gamers" or things like that, like this is something to be proud of.
I see all over the internet people saying "i'm a gamer, you're no gamer, bla bla bla"..... hahaha get the F outta here, now you're a dead gamer.
Instead i'm an alive NO gamer.
'Long periods of immobility' that says it all, as much as I'd love to blame the xbox =P that... boy was 20 and should know that too much laziness and lack of movement - for a 12 hour game session? - is VERY bad for your health, lazy people will never learn, this was suppose to have happened before in China or Korea a couple of times at internet cafes where people play world of warcraft or something and died in their chair because they didn't move or eat while playing for too long.
I wouldn't even blame the father, that fcker is a grown man and he should have known that playing long hours without stretching can be dangerous to someone's health but if he didn't knew that, then I guess he'll never know.
Sure, blame the game and not the fact that the father bought him an Xbox.. >.>
I sleep fine at night knowing we are banning people who deserve it.
