PC gamers are not pleased pissed. Keep reading to find out why...

A lot of PC gamers are very upset that Crysis 2 is essentially a console port, me included. To be honest, this is the main reason is haven't flunked down $60+ dollars for it. I'm really not thrilled to spend this kind of money on a console port. I loved the original Crysis and also Crysis Warhead, but they were designed (from the ground up) to be played on a PC. Now there are rumors of a DirectX 11 version/patch, but even if that happens I don't believe it will change the console style gameplay and other console characteristics. I guess we can always keep out hope, but I can't see this happening any time soon, if at all. Oh, and speaking of patches, at this point many are needed to make the PC version playable. As it stands now I'm just not excited about playing it.

I hope this is not of sign of things to come from other game developers. Can you imagine a future where most games for the PC are console ports! Sadly, I believe we are handing in this direction. It's unbelievable to me why Crytek did this. Oh wait, it has to do with the all-mighty dollar. I'm all for them making money, but I feel kinda like Crytek has stabbed us PC gamers in the back. Although, I bet consoles gamers are loving this move :/

Many PC gaming sites/reviewers are raging mad as well, some putting Crysis 2 in the "worst ever game" category. Is this really a "bargain bin game"? I mean can we put Crysis 2 on the less than $5 shelf. If you've been waiting for years for the ultimate Crysis 2 PC gaming experience, hell yes. Let's face it, ports from the console to the PC have never worked well.

I guess it time for me to sell my gaming PC and get a gaming console, NOT!

I think Crysis 2 is better than any game Crytek have made. And i love how it sits on 60fps, even though the temps and noise are louder than other games.

I cant even play Crysis 1 or Warhead because the frame rate keeps jumping around on me and that i CANT stand, i wont bother playing Crysis 1 properly until a few more years...

Consoles are also delaying Diablo 3 on us, consoles are for babies, PC's are for men!

I've been a PC player all my life... well... since "f"uking 1983. Yes. "F"ucking 1983. All types of PC's passed from my hands since the 48K era. And i never seen such back stabbings on the PC since Bill Gates bought all small computer companies and turned into a "f"ucking computer tycoon.

Now, the PC and PC users are seen as 2nd hand trash that dont worth the trouble. Yet, i give credits to the console world. It evolved and its an emersive world of gaming. But thats it. And not all games are suitable for consoles. Like First Person Shooters for example. The person who claims that is better to play a FPS on a console must be thick as cement. Everyone with an IQ above 80 knows that a FPS is best played on a PC do two small insignificant things called "F"UCKING KEYBOARD and "F"UCKING MOUSE...

In the other side, Racing Games are better played on a console. Who the "f"uck likes to use a keyboard to drive a car? So, some companies made mouses and keyboards for consoles and gamepads for PC's.

But that rises a big question. If gaming consoles are evolving and becoming powerful gaming machines and PC's are evolving to become also better and awsome gaming machines ( for those who never heard of something called A "F"UCKING 600$ VIDEO CARD!!! ) why does the gaming industry neglecting the PC's and PC users in favour of gaming consoles? Are PC users trampolins for consoles and the gaming industry? Are the PC users merely a market test? An aproval rating about a product? If it passes mass aproval, we will put it on consoles? WTF!?

Honestly, i feel used like a 10$ tramp... but i love my computer and i will keep using it to play everytime and everything i want.

Note to Crytek... I bought Crysis and Crysis : Warhead and i didnt download the Crysis 2 leak and satisfy my curiosity about Crysis 2 do to your work of dedicating your efforts on evolving the gaming on a PC. I thought that your efforts should be rewarded, but now... i just realized you guys are a bunch of "f"ucking sellouts. Congratutalions Crytek. The PC world was backstabbed again by a soldier with a Crytek cloaked suit...

Ye I guess if you want something done right, do it yourself. The biggest problem is the money, if someone want money they make crapy console game cod style (Crysis 2). But if someone is passion about game they make awesome game like Half life series, Arma series, Starcraft, Metal Gear Solid and much more. Crysis 1 was a great game and Crysis Wars/Warhead was a bit move to wrong direction but still 100% better then Crysis 2. Really if this game pass beta test, they should fired immediately all testers.

Actually the PC market is growing and not the other way around. There's still money to be made on the PC, game developers just need to realize it. Just look at Amnesia: The Dark Descent (a 100% kickass game) developed by Frictional Games, a 5-man indie company. They planned to go over to consoles because they thought that's where the money is, but after the release of the game Amnesia, which was their breakthrough, they realized that the PC market isnt dead.

Quote from their website: "With these figures at hand, we must confess that it gives us new confidence for the PC. The sales that we have had (and are having) are more than enough to motivate developing a game with the PC as the main (and even only) platform."

And now they are planning to focus on the PC as their main platform and then port games over to consoles. In my opinion that's the way it should be, not the other way around!

My theory is that the pricing of games is what causes so many people to resort to piracy, 60 dollars for a game is just ridiculous.

Don't worry! When I start making games, they will be focused on PC gamers - I don't care WHAT marketing is going to tell me.

kinda was obvious, from the day crytek said that crysis 2 will be on consoles, i knew there was something negative for PC
same for assassin's creed 1, had dx10 compatibility and then it got popular with 2 and brotherhood, both are simple ports with dx9 on PC, it is buggy as hell on my PC and runs smooth on my ps3...PC is a niche now, thanks to tablets, smartphones, consoles..

I have a gaming PC and all gaming consoles and it definately doens't get you laid!

This is why I cancelled my Pre-Order. That money is going where it should go - Battlefield 3! I love you, DICE, even if you made some poor choices in the past.

If developers could get their shit together and design the games for the PC first and then dumb it down for consoles, then we wouldn't have this problem. But developers lack common sense and don't even realize that they would actually make more money that way.

As for the guy saying that this is a good thing because some people don't have the best PCs out there, I'm sure you could still run a graphically intensive game on low settings if you don't have a great computer...and if you can't then it's time to upgrade or get a new computer anyway. Either that or just don't game on the PC.

Well, fact is, if there's more money to be made in the console market, that's where game developers will go. And unfortunately for us PC gamers, this is what's happening. Also, a lot of games are now being designed for tablets. Maybe PC gaming is on the way out, I really hope not.

I have always been a firm believer that console games built from the ground up are never as good as a PC game built from the ground up. Now a days though we have a problem, almost every developer but a hand full are keeping it real with PC gaming and not just making ports. It is all due to the big names though like EA, K2, ect... that force the developers to make them console games cause that is where the money is. I recently just sold my gaming computer and it goes in the next week :( I Sold it though because there just is not enough good games out there that are worth the money of always upgrading. I just wished that gaming computers and there awesome games was not a dying bread but it is and I think its time we face the music. Now will It ever really die I don't think so but if it just wasn't for all these f***ing stupid ass kids that all want xbox live and think it was the best thing ever made (dam there stupid now a days) and would just go to a friends house that is smart enough to know that gaming on a PC is so much better and teach all the kids at school that then it would be a different story and computer gaming would be heaven. On top of that you don't really need to know about computers and all the hardware and stuff. You just need a budget and go to your local "computer store" (not a best buy or future shop. A real store like NCIX) and tell them your budget and you want a gaming computer and they will whip one up for you. real simple. you dont need to get in the know how of how everything works and all the different parts even though thats a awesome part of computers. Thats not hard Kid's and most of you are rocking $700 phones with MAC's >:( (I know thats not always true but I do see a lot of kids/teenagers who rock At least one MAC or at least a really fancy phone they really dont need.) in every room so you have enough money to buy a decent computer and you don't have to learn anything. But thats not whats happening so we just gotta hope one day it does but right now it does not look good and I will be back one day to gaming computers but right now is just a dark time.

Could not agree more.. for me Warhead was and still is the best shooter. Especially with its music I finished Crysis 2 on a computer that has no problems whatsoever playing it on max settings using DX11.. sadly and I am a former PS3 player this is an import.. and indeed all they care about is $$ like activision releasing a new CoD every year that has nothing new in it except a new story and loads of bugs. And the proof here is obvious - the game does not have DX11 support..

Console ports like this are the only games I would download illegaly, I would certainly not buy them. It is the few PC game-developers that I will support through buying their games, companies like DICE and Frictional Games.

Hello!

I don't agree, because there are a lot of pc gamers in the world who can't afford to build a rocket PC or to make upgrades every or several times / year in order to play pc games which are very demanding and hardware hogs(like the first Crysis was), just because they are PC dedicated.

Hey people!! Don't be selfish :)

CHEERS!
