"Historically, Google has used names of dessert items for its Android OS system, starting with Donut (v1.6), Eclair (v2.1), Froyo (v2.2), latest Gingerbread (v2.3) for smartphones and finally HoneyComb (v3.0) for tablets. With that logic in mind, it should be only natural that the next codename for the OS should start with "I", and "Ice Cream" appears to be next on Google's list of Android releases.
