"Since at least the mid-1980s, major console makers have generally come out with new models every five years or so. For example, the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) came out in 1985, followed by the Super NES in 1991, the Nintendo 64 in 1996, the GameCube in 2001, and the Wii in 2006. Sony put out the first PlayStation in 1995 and followed up with the PS2 in 2000 and the PS3 in 2006. And Microsoft introduced the original Xbox in 2001 and released the Xbox 360 in 2005." | more

Console are generations behind any new computer today. Any1 who is still trying to play games on a single core and POSSIBLY any older dual core LGA775 CPU, ATI/AMD below 4000series video card (idk what the nVidia cards are during that series sry :/), and doesn't have ATLEAST 512MB of memory are the ones being beat by consoles. TBH consoles are just a convenience and is served for 1 purpose...Gaming nothing else. PC's allow u to do more then just game.

I have ps3 and an Xbox360 and I prefer a PC any day. I just like having total control when I play games, and not some auto-aim and joysticks. Just not my cup o tea lol.

Wow!

With all this bickering in C|Net article, this makes me stay out of the war zone...

"My PC is better than your console."
"My console is better than your PC."
"My PC is better than your console."
"My console is better than your PC."
"My PC is..."
"My console is..."

Well, I'm better at playing Eastern/Japanese RPG than Western RPG, like Neverwinter Nights for the PC. 'sides, Eastern/JRPG games do tend to provide a very simple gameplay with very easy to understand battle systems. It's nice to have text or text with bars instead of just bars for displaying hit points, magic points, psynergy points (anyone for Golden Sun?) or whatever they call it for consuming magic.

So to sum this up, I'm a hardcore Eastern/JRPG gamer who does not care about exploring the world that's not part of the story or character customization. Maybe it's because I'm a Japanese gamer even though I'm an American. :)
