If you buy used games you are cheating the publisher out of money says THQ. In the past people could share and sell this type of thing, but it seems like each day that moves on from here we are losing more and more rights. Not that I condone the Pirating of games, but if you can't afford retail and they don't want you to buy used or pre-owned, then I guess that leaves a lot of people with few options.

"THQ's Cory Ledesma has delivered a blunt message to consumers buying used copies of his company's games: they're cheating the publisher out of money. "I don't think we really care whether used game buyers are upset because new game buyers get everything", THQ's creative director for wrestling titles told Gamasutra. "So if used game buyers are upset they don't get the online feature set I don't really have much sympathy for them". | More

i think some game publishers don't think good i accept whit rodney the games are to expensive even for online games they say we need 10dollars more to keep our servers online actually that is not true they only need to set up servers until clans get in the game and start renting servers than the original server can disappear so i wouldn't have found mw2 such a fail if they asked only 30€ for it because of all the contents that where missing (mods and dedicated servers) the only reason why i prefer rpg games atm is because they mostly have more than 10 hours of game play while shooters only have 5 sp and sometimes a good mp

Why wouldn't you get online features if you buy used games? usually if you buy used games from a retail store, you get a new disk and the only thing used is the box and manual.

In away I can see what they are talking about. It's like the used games are being cycled with new players without the publisher making any money. I just can't see any reason to make or enforce laws that only encourage people with less money to steal or choose a game over food and rent. If they would just sell the games cheaper none of this would even be an issue.

I sleep fine at night knowing we are banning people who deserve it.  Tivon
