If All Else Fails... Copy Paste Reality

Why is it that we hold math high above the arts? I would picture that all of these things should be balanced for a higher education. I only bring this up because some video games today lack that creativity side. How many Call of Duty or Battlefield games are you going to play and remain content with the same old stuff? Maybe I have an axe to grind with the publishers & developers for being so copy paste of the real world. Every now and then they do something cool like in COD:WaW with the flame throwers and the Ray Gun and not to forget dedicated servers with Zombies. There is just not enough imagination in these games today that takes us on a truly new and unique adventure. And yet we happily drop down that 60$ on an all new happy meal game with amazing realism, shortened game play, required hardware upgrades and the added frustration of updating drivers.

I want a new timesplitters for PC, but i'd settle for xbox. I loved the old timesplitters and they were utterly different. Valves stuff is usually different aswell which I enjoy.

True, it is about the fun factor and that unique memorable gaming experience. I know one game I recently bought for $10, Red Faction Guillera hooked me and I really looked forward to playing it again. It also has major replay which is nice even though I don't have the time for it. LOL Another game I think might be like this is Borderlands, although I'm not sure.

Games like these....

My kids have more fun playing free flash games than those I paid 60$ for retail. surprise

I sleep fine at night knowing we are banning people who deserve it.  Tivon

Tell me about Rodney. Is it all about the money or the love of playing a good video game? I think that's where the problem is today. Don't take me wrong though, it's not a bad thing to make a ton of cache from your hardwork, but it feels like the joy factor is missing and options we once had are now gone.

A financial analyst talks about how much the games really cost and why they are 60 bucks; at 2:34 in the video

and the stuff before that talks about same stuff we are talking about here, the creativity of FPSs :)
