The P55A and 870A
MSI has officially rolled out its newest motherboards equipped with Lucid's Hydra 200 chip, the clever chip that allows graphics card mixing for some SLI/Crossfire hybrid action. The two new motherboard are based on Intel's P55 and AMD's 870A chipsets and are first motherboards with Lucid's Hydra chip that pretty much affordable.
Both motherboards feature MSI's Military Class components and OC Genie for stability and easier overclocking as well as USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps ports. Both of course feature two PCI-Express x16 slots which are working at full x16, x16 thanks to the Lucid Hydra 200 chip.
The AMD based 870A supports AMD AM3 CPUs, has support for DDR3 1066/1333/1600 memory in four DIMM slots, has six SATA 3Gbps and two SATA 6Gbps ports, Gigabit LAN, six rear USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 port and features Unlock CPU Core feature.
The Intel based P55A supports Intel socket 1156 CPUs, has four DIMM slots with support for DDR3 1066/1333/1600/2000/2133 memory, although 1600 and above is considered overclocking, has Gigabit LAN, six SATA 3Gbps and two SATA 6Gbps ports, six USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 port, and features Super Unlock paired up with OC Genie, which should get you Intel CPU up to 4GHz, at least in theory.
Both motherboards are already listed in Europe and the lowest price starts at €187,65 for the P55A Fuzion and €153,78 for the 870A-GD60 Fuzion. You can find them listed here.
