The PCI-Express SSD
Although it was listed for quite a while, OCZ has officially rolled out its high-performance and "affordable" PCI-Express based solid state drive, the RevoDrive. The RevoDrive is based on two Sandforce controllers working in RAID and paired up with MLC NAND flash chips.
The RevoDrive uses PCI-Express x4 interface and has read and write speeds of up to 540MB/s and 480MB/s respectively, with random write performance of up to 80,000IOPS. Although the price is still pretty high, we must note it surely sounds affordable considering that it has a suggested price tag of US $3 per gigabyte, which isn't that bad considering the performance.
The RevoDrive is backed by a three-year warranty and will be available in 120 and 240GB version with a suggested price tag of US $390 and US $700.

Bummer, my ASUS P6X58-D Premium mobo does not have a PCI-e 4x slot. I would have jumped on this as I am about to purchase a Vertex 2 at about the same cost per GB with the Revo having almost twice the speed!
i'm still waiting untill it drops to 2 €(or even better $ ) /gig so it is inexpencive i gladly lay 100€ for a 50 gig drive but 150 and 200 € is just to much even if it is high speed
Whoa...for the speed and capacity it's actually quite surprisingly inexpensive.
