Support for 120Hz displays on older cards

AMD has issued a new WHQL version of its Catalyst driver, the Catalyst 10.5. The new one supports Radeon HD 2000, 3000, 4000 and HD 5000 series, both desktop and Mobility graphics cards, as well as the support for Radeon 3000 and 4000 series IGPs.

The new features for the Catalyst 10.5 include support for 120Hz displays on the Radeon HD 3000 and HD 400 series graphics cards and ATI Overdrive full support for overclocking the multi-display configurations. There hasn't been any noted significant performance improvements as AMD would certainly brag about it.

On the other hand, AMD did note a dozen or so resolved issues ranging from Battlefield 2: Bad Company game, some fixes for Mass Effect 2, Empire: Total War, Unigine Heaven Benchmark 2.0, Alien vs. Predator, and some other games.

You can download the new Catalyst 10.5 here.

I noticed my load times were slow again with 10.5. Here is the fix.
