I have the latest 260.99 NVIDIA driver, a GTX 295, 7 Ultimate 64bit, and all my important Windows updates installed.
In the optional Windows updates, it says I need to "update" to an NVIDIA driver published on April 17 2010 which I believe is 197.45. I have had the same issue from previous drivers since then. Why is it telling me to use an older driver when I already have the latest and it's a WHQL driver not beta. I'm thinking it's an issue with Windows Update but not completely sure. Any ideas?
I had the same issue. Just right-click and ignore the "update".
Thanks. It's probably best if I just manually download the driver from the site anyway.
EDIT: Strange thing happened yesterday...for the first time in months the update finally seemed to disappear on it's own, I suppose they fixed it.
MS likely gets updates pushed later than either manufacturer's website. And then MS has to update their servers.
So basically just ignore it and get updates from the manufacturers' sites.
