In Windows Explorer on vista and xp you can press a letter key to quickly jump to the first file or folder starting with that letter. but on win 7 it just types it in the search box searching every folder with that letter. is there anyway to get around this?

its ok i found the solution goto folder options > view and right down the bottom check "select typed item in view"
