I'm still getting used to this OS. Basically, I have an admin acocunt and a user account set up, so that I'm not always using the admin for everyday computing.
I'd like to be able to pull down updates from the admin account and apply them across all the profiles. Is there a way to do this (especially considering I need the admin pw to pull updates on the user acct anyway)?
I'm not sure what your problem is? Windows does global updates that affect all accounts or none at all. There is no need to/you cannot update again because updates were already installed previously, once is enough.
This seems to have fixed itself. What basically happened was I installed my legit copy of MS Office and proceeded to download all the updates in the admin account. I then proceeded to log into the user account and noticed a score of MS Office help file updates that I had sworn I'd already downloaded and installed. I just got fed up and did it "again."
This hasn't appeared to be an issue since, so I think my perception was just a bit off.
