It has been one of my goals to get back into recording video games. In the past I've used FRAPS with some success but these days games like BF2BC2 require more CPU than my system can muster up. So what are my options? FRAPS is too demanding. Xfire seems to work fine, but I'm just not fast enough for FPS gaming. I've read about WeGamer and few other programs. Maybe software is not what I need, but rather something else like a video capture card or external recorder.
What about PlayClaw?

I recall posting that news..lol. Did some extra testing today. Installed WeGame and was disappointed. In fact after the install YouTube videos stopped working right until I rebooted the computer. WeGamer was playable but the quality was so much worse than anything else. I went back to FRAPS for a while today. Had to reinstall it, then my sound stopped working and gave me an error. Rebooted and it was fine.. that's odd? I then adjusted FRAPS to 60FPS and for some reason that allows my playing frame rates to go higher, but I don't truly understand how 80 ~ 120FPS drops to 60 or 30FPS just from recording with FRAPS? 3 minutes recording like this was almost 4GB.
I'll give PlayClaw a whirl later. :)
Not bad for my first time. :)
