I already installed windows 7 on my new build but I recently got another Hard Drive and I want to setup my build as RAID 0. Now I know my Hard Drive will be wiped clean and after the RAID configuration I would have to install windows. Here's my question, can I still install the same copy of windows I installed the first time? Im I ok? Will I have to deactivate the windows before re-using/installing it?
As long as the mobo is the same, you shouldn't have a problem The only caveats are if this version is from another machine, it won;t work, or if it is a release candidate version. So long as it is a legit copy you are good to go. No need to deactivate. You might have to do a phone registration to validate , if you have installed too many times. Since you are running RAID 0, make sure you have a backup solution.
You should be fine as long as its the same motherboard. There is always work arounds too ;) but those are complicated.
Nice, Thanks guys.
