directory of programme files

when i changed files directory from c to my f drive it works fine but when i nstall a programme it extracts to that drive fine but does not create a folder for that programme did i do something wrong

Are you using Windows 64bit? If so you'll have two directories for program files, one for 32bit programs and another for 64bit programs. So you'll need to change both in the registry.
