I have an Athlon x2 @ 2.0ghz which I am upgrading to an athlon II x4 630 @ 2.80ghz stock with 4Gb of DDR3 ram. I know this will be a major improvement for me. But I was curious If I was to overclock to 3.0ghz or maybe 3.2 ghz would it make alot of diference? (on a stock fan)
Thanks in Advance
BTW this would be my first time Overclocking.
For most applications no. A 200-400MHz overclock is minor. BTW, pickup an aftermarket cooler, you can get a decent one for under $50 that will preform much better than the stock heatsink.
Thanks! Since I am on a low budget I was looking at the Cooler Master Hyper N520 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4434989&Sku=C283-1202
I think It would be a cheap one for minor overclocking. Your thoughts?
The CM Hyper 212+ would be a better bet and cheaper. Huge bang for the buck on that cooler.
Ok Thanks! I'll look into it.
