i bought this rig exactly 1 year ago and with it i gave it a coolermaster v8 cpu fan hoping to one day to overclock my cpu, well the time is now, and im a complete overclocking noob
I followed this guide EXACTLY in the first few steps to lower all multiplyers, so just to test it out i tried powering on the computer to see if it would pass post test with all multiplyers on low but it didnt. in fact before i tried following this guide i tinkered around with everything, i set the base clock from 133 to 134. one slight change just screwed over my post test.
every little thing i do results in a failed boot, is the youtube guide wrong?
List your hardware
what is the best cpu for cpu stepping
what is the best cpu with cpu stepping
List your hardware
exactly. list it :)
Asus P6T Deluxe
i7 920 + CM V8
12gb DDR3 Dominator Ram 1600mhz 1.6v
Cooler Master Silent Pro 600
Palit 1gb GTX 460
Antec 900 II 4 fans running
3 Hard drives running Raid 0
I'm familiar with the overclocking but have set to stocks for a year since I never utilized it. Recently got a bump in my DDR3 and new GTX 460 so I wanted to bench myself again. But what I use to do doesn't work and every little tweak is a fail boot as well. I don't even know if I'm using the full potential of my DDR3 Ram.
Asus P6T Deluxe EPIC FAIL! Don't buy ASUS products!
Read ASUS forum
I think that's a little immature, these were the first Gen of x58 motherboards so there wasn't much to choose from and yes I bought the i7 when it first came out. The board handled overclocks to 4ghz and 1600 DDR3 fine 2 years ago but I'm just going to assume its getting old.
wow fizzylumi is a ass lol
asus is good there bords last quiet a while i would just try to increase the multiplier
Here is a wealth of info to help, http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/225371-intel-cpu-essentials-collected-guides.html
