Have 3 Pins Asus CPU Fan But in Montherboard 4 Pins Are There Please Help!!

Hello

Can anybody please help me in this thing..
i have Asus M2A-MX Monthboard With AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ from last few days my CPU fan is not working so i buy new Asus Chilly Vent Fan But now a problem was coming..
In Asus Chilly Vent Fan there is 3 Pin connecter & in my motherboard there is 4 pin connecter so can anybody tell me whts the best & easy solution for this
Is there any converter come for this or shall i connect 3 pin into 4 please tell the best way to do it..

I believe that 4 pin are backwards compatible.

 

The Gigabyte MA770T-UD3P that came in my new rig has 4 onboard fan connections and I was able to plug the 3 pin into the 4 pin connector and they register and function properly.  Speedfan sees them just fine.
