My current equipment is very old (2003) and performing poorly when multiple computers are downloading at the same time. On top of that my cat decided it was a great idea to play with my router/access point while I was at work and he managed to inflict some serious damage to my equipment. I couldn't find any recent video review therefor I'm going to ask you the following: What would you say is the best combination available on the market? I'm looking for the following pieces: 1) A router, 2) A wireless access point 3) Adaptor for my computer. I have a decent budget and looking for something that performs very well and is reasonably priced. Thank you.
Look for a router and adapter capable of dual band Wireless N for best range and speeds. I suggest D-Link.

These are the two products I had in mind after reading your post.
The gaming router is great but I would get the DWA-160 USB adapter instead of the PCIe card. And you only need a free USB 2.0 port.
