Hi, I have internet that is supposed to be up to 50 MB/s but i can only get 2.5 Mb/s from my neighbour. You Tube in 480P buffers so much that I have to pause the video every minute. Today i remembered that my brother's laptop can view 1080P with no buffer.
The question is: Does my pc performance (Cpu Ram MoBo HDD) influence the speed on internet in any way ?

1.6 Ghz CPU amd sempron
512 Ram
K8V-MX
34 Gb HDD

I have the same problem with YouTube, it's not your hardware it's the YouTube servers' problem.

This is not about YouTube only. I only pray for 300 Kb/s with torrent (523 seeds)

Do we really have fast internet or are we being limited to how fast we can download?

Problem solved.
Got a quad core pc and now youtube only buffers in 1080P when downloading something.

138mbps or the 309mbps is nearly impossible. I see that your ping is 222 but your ISP (Optimum Oline) is clearly the speedtest.net host. Try another server a little farther away and you should get a dose of reality.

wow the upload is really low and eum you probably have bought a new mobo that has a better integrated network card so thats why the speed increases and do you have a hd screen because 1080p is useless without a quality screen

Well, You comp is laggin in processing power to decode a proper 1080P video, Wireless it not a good idea either.I get about 9 MBPS with my Bell SB internet package. enough for 2 computers to go youtube 1080P at the same time. Across my network my ping's are so fast their unmeasurable, as for outside ping's they can vary but my lowest has been 52.

I run GIGABIT CAT6, and have Commercial Fibe, so i guess the ping's should be low. Sadly my Wireless N router burned through the network fabric, so wireless HD is a thing of the past for a while. I noticed a HUGE difference between even 10/100 and wireless N. wired is still the way to go.
